1, Xunshi
Xunshi (yì), whose font size is unknown, is from Yingyin, Yingchuan (now Xuchang City, Henan Province). Xun Yu's grandfather was a famous strategist, and his father, Xun Yun, married Princess Anyang, the daughter of Emperor Wu of Wei. Therefore, Xun Shi was Cao Cao's grandson. Although Xun Zi's father Xun Yun had a bad relationship with Cao Pi, Xun Zi was favored by Cao Pi as his nephew and became the leader of the army. After his death, he was posthumously awarded the title of General of the Cavalry and was posthumously named Zhenhou.
After Xun Shi became an adult, he married Emperor Xuan of Jin Sima Yi and Empress Xuanmu Zhang Chunhua daughter Princess Nanyang . Because the Nanyang Princess is the sister of Sima Shi and Sima Zhao, Xun Shi is close and friendly with them. As Sima Yi's eldest son-in-law, Xun Zuo has three sons. Among them, the eldest son Xun Qing once served as the Shaofu official position, the second son, Xun Kai , served as the Shizhong and the General of the West, and the third son, Xun Qing , served as the General of the Guard.
After Xun Shi passed away, Xun Kai inherited his father's title. After the establishment of Western Jin , Sima Yan took into account Xun Shi's merits and changed Xun Kai to Nandun County. In my opinion, Xun Shi's life is relatively simple due to the lack of historical records. However, due to his in-laws with Sima Yi's family, Xun Shi continued to be reused in the Western Jin Dynasty.
2, Duyu
On the other hand, Sima Yi's second daughter, Princess Gao Lu, married Du Yu. Du Yu (222-early 285), whose courtesy name was Yuankai, was from Duling County, Jingzhao County (now Xi'an, Shaanxi). Du Yu was born in Jingzhao Du family, and his father Du Shu served as the permanent attendant of Sanqi in Cao Wei . In the late Cao Wei Dynasty, Du Yu was appointed as the Secretary of the Shangshu Lang, and later became the aide of the powerful Sima Zhao, and was named Fengleting Hou . Because he became Sima Yi's youngest son-in-law, Du Yu naturally gained the full trust of Sima Zhao and Sima Yan.
After the establishment of the Western Jin Dynasty, Du Yu served as important officials such as Henan Yin, Anxi Military Office, Qinzhou Governor, and Duzhi Shangshu, and compiled " Jinlu " with Jia Chong and others. Of course, Du Yu's most important achievement was naturally participating in : The Battle of Jin to Destroy Wu . In the fourth year of Xianning (278), Du Yu replaced Yang Hu as the general of Zhennan and guarded Jingzhou. After coming to Jingzhou, Du Yuji prepared for the war and supported Sima Yan to fight against Sun Wu, and became one of the commanders of the battle of Jin to destroy Wu in the fifth year of Xianning (279).
After the fall of the Eastern Wu, Du Yu made great achievements, so he was granted the title of Marquis of Dangyang County and still ruled Jingzhou. At that time, Du Yu built a school and supervised water conservancy, and was called "Father Du" by people at that time, that is, he was not only an outstanding military general, but also had outstanding achievements in governing the area. Later, Du Yu returned to the court and served as the Sili School Captain. Taikang In the fifth year of December (early 285), Du Yu was 63 years old. He was awarded the title of General Zhengnan and the Three Sessions of Kaifu Yitong, and was posthumously named "Cheng".
Du Yu was polite and knowledgeable, and made many achievements. He was praised as "Du Wuku" at the time. His annotation of "Jin Lu" with Zhang Fei was known as " Zhang Dulu " at that time. The "Collected Explanations of the Zuo Classics of the Spring and Autumn Period" he wrote is rigorous in the review and the annotations are accurate, and there are many independent opinions and insightful discussions. It is the earliest annotation of "Zuo Zhuan" to this day.
is precisely because of its characteristics of both civil and military affairs that Du Yu became the only person who entered the Confucian Temple and the Martial Temple before the Ming Dynasty . In this regard, Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang once commented: "If Zhuge Kongming , Yang Hu, Du Yu, and Li Jing, both civil and military, it is difficult to summarize."
