Mu Wangzhai talks about eating

An Hui menu
There is an Hui menu in the notebook, which is a lunch I had in Jixi a few years ago. The menu is as follows:
Stone ear chicken, stinky mandarin fish , hairy tofu, Hu Shi one-piece hot pot, braised grouper, leaf tofu, green pepper rice shrimp, braised wild boar, ham and baked bamboo shoots.
Staple foods include: double-flavor steamed dumplings, tart cakes and mochi.
The reason why I left this menu is to keep a memory. It was an enjoyable and memorable lunch.
Among the eight major cuisines, nowadays Anhui cuisine should be the weakest. In addition to the rare ingredients, Anhui cuisine is mainly heavy in oil and color, which is contrary to the popular trend of light food. There are quite a few Hui cuisine restaurants in Beijing. The ones I’ve been to in Huizhou and Wannan Shanshui are both pretty good. Wannan Shanshui has opened several branches! Years ago in Beijing, a few friends gathered at the Wannan Shanshui Guancun store, and the dishes they ordered were all very good. Among them, the braised local pork is especially good, fat but not greasy. Everyone's mouths are full of oil and they keep applauding.
The lunch in Jixi was in a quiet and unknown small restaurant. Two tall camphor trees outside the restaurant blocked half of the room in the hall from the summer sunshine, and the smell of camphor trees filled the surroundings. This lunch is certainly better than the one in Beijing. Leaving aside cooking skills, the main priority is the origin of the ingredients, all cooking skills, and the freshness of the raw materials.
For example, let’s take “Double Stones of Huangshan Mountain”. Stone fungus and stone chicken can be fried, but stewed is of course better. These are rare raw materials. The stone ears are on the cliff, so it is difficult to pick them. Stone chickens hide in dark and quiet places in mountain streams and streams. "A Bite of China" says that pheasants and snakes cohabitate, which we have heard in Huizhou for a long time. What are the facts? I haven't seen it myself, so I can only hear it tentatively. But it can also be seen how difficult it is to catch the pheasant. Every time I am in Huizhou, as long as there is stone ear stewed stone chicken on the table, I will do my best to make a bowl first; when I see the opportunity, I will have another bowl. Food like this is rare. The chukar is a frog that looks like a bullfrog, but is much smaller than a bullfrog. Its taste is also very different from that of bullfrog. When I was dining out, I also saw bullfrogs being used as chickens. A layman like me can tell this at a glance. The legs of a bullfrog are much thicker than those of a chukar.
asked what does stewed stone chicken taste like? Two words can answer: cool and fresh.
Stinky mandarin fish is the representative of Huizhou cuisine. It is made by pickling fresh mandarin fish. The process is complicated and I won’t go into details. In some restaurants, there is also a dish that pretends to be smelly mandarin fish and pours fermented bean curd on it. The meat is loose and tasteless in the mouth. The method to tell whether the stinky mandarin fish is real or fake is very simple: flip the chopsticks and pull out the garlic clove meat. The flesh is white in color and red in the inside. The meat is fresh and chewy in the mouth. It must be the top quality stinky mandarin fish.
Hu Shi’s Yipin hotpot is a big dish, with some having nine layers and some having six layers. The main ingredients are pork belly, egg dumplings, cooked ham, quail eggs , and the auxiliary ingredients are mushrooms, winter bamboo shoots, and dried beans. Hu Shi's Yipin Guo is both a large dish and a small dish. Several layers of ingredients are stacked on top of each other and need to be simmered, which is quite labor-intensive. I have stayed at Ziyuan in Jixi for several days. I must have this dish for every meal, but I still like it very much.
Braised grouper, apart from Jixi, I have eaten it in Taiping and Huizhou District (Yansi). When it comes to braised grouper, I think the cadre school in our unit cooks it best. To eat grouper , you must be near the water, and the fish must be alive and fresh. Every time we go to our cadre school, a pot of braised grouper will be served. An alcohol stove was lit under the basin, burning hot. The fish was only an inch long and was slurping in the red soup. The braised grouper has no ingredients, just fish. Eat one, then eat one, that’s enough!
Grilled leaf tofu. Huizhou people have a long history of eating leaves. They eat all kinds of leaves and there are many different kinds of leaves. In Huizhou, I mostly eat acorn tofu and banzi tofu. Burn a bowl, it's dark but tastes good, smooth and refreshing. Now we pay attention to green food. This is meant to be green. Steamed double-flavor steamed dumplings.Double-flavor steamed dumplings are available with tofu filling and pumpkin filling. Tofu or old pumpkin and old cucumber are mashed into the filling. As soon as you pick it up, the skin is thin and transparent, and it is really refreshing in the mouth! The buns are all vegetarian, can they be delicious?
Tart cakes are a specialty of Huizhou, mainly in Jixi. The specialty of tart cakes is the filling, which can be filled with toon, shredded dried radish, pumpkin, or fresh tea leaves. The stuffing made from these local ingredients is particularly fragrant and filling. My daughter has been studying in Huizhou for four years, and now her mouth is watering when she mentions tart cakes.
You can find mochi everywhere, and the more you make it, the more chewy it becomes. Huizhou's mochi rolls sesame on the outside of the glutinous rice, and steams it in a big steamer, creating a room full of aroma.
Green pepper, rice and shrimp, braised wild boar, and ham and baked bamboo shoots, all have their own characteristics, so I won’t list them all one by one.
said it was an Anhui menu, but went to talk about Anhui cuisine. Because I am too partial to Anhui cuisine and know a lot about it, I am chewing nonsense here. There is a saying in poetry writing that "the rules should not be changed", so let it go off topic here and let it go.
Drink porridge
I am famous for my love of porridge at home.
Many of a person's habits are developed in childhood, including a person's taste. When we were young, we would cook a big pot of porridge at home every night. Especially in summer, at dusk, bean porridge is brought to the yard early to cool down. The children took a bath first, changed out their dirty clothes, and washed them for their mother. When the sun goes down, the whole family starts dinner. Bean porridge is steamed buns, plus stinky poles and fermented bean curd. They drink two big bowls of porridge, and their bellies are bulging. One day has passed.
Therefore, decades have passed, and the habit of eating porridge still remains. Every night, our family cooks bean porridge in the rice cooker and drinks two bowls of it in the morning. Even if there is soup, milk, etc., I have to drink a bowl of porridge first to lay the foundation before drinking soy milk or milk. Otherwise, my stomach will growl all day and I will feel uncomfortable.
China is actually a big country that drinks porridge. From Hong Kong and Guangdong in the south, you can drink white porridge, lean meat porridge, and preserved egg porridge; in the north to the corners of the northeast, you can drink dregs porridge. Old people also like to drink porridge. The elderly have poor gastric motility, so drinking porridge is easy to digest. Among writers, I know that Wang Meng and Sun Li love to drink porridge.
Wang Meng said in the essay "I Love to Drink Porridge": If you drink too much porridge and drink it for a long time, you will naturally develop feelings. Porridge is easy to digest. Whenever you are sick, you will want to drink porridge, especially rice porridge. The fragrance of fresh rice seems to mean a kind of recuperation, a kind of leisure, a kind of peace in weakness, a kind of calm expectation and confidence in recovering health. Sun Li is the most civilian-minded among writers. Not only did he write plainly and peacefully, but he also lived an extremely simple life, "holding the handicap and guarding the palace, so as to achieve peace and tranquility." He said it really well in "My Thoughts on Eating Porridge": I like to drink stick noodle porridge almost all year round. If I cook more at night, I can still have a meal the next morning. After autumn, if you add some vegetable leaves, sweet potatoes, carrots, etc., it will be more delicious. Sitting on the heated Kang in winter, holding a bowl in both hands, sipping with your neck curled up, is indeed, as Zheng Banqiao said, a great enjoyment in life. Drinking porridge to this extent is also one of the great realms of life.
" Dream of Red Mansions " also specifically talks about the function of porridge to nourish the stomach. I have been working outside for many years and my life has been irregular, which has ruined my stomach. If you don't exercise a little on weekdays, your bulge will become swollen. Sometimes I go on a business trip for a few days, smoke and drink too much, and my mouth becomes dry. At that time, I miss porridge even more strongly. Occasionally, I drank two more cups and got a severe headache. If I could drink three large bowls of porridge, don't tell me, it would work immediately, which would be more effective than any panacea.
People’s living conditions are much better now, and there are more varieties of porridge. When cooking porridge, add red dates and lotus seeds. If you are more careful, you can add more than a dozen longan ( longan ). This kind of porridge is not only delicious, but also very nutritious.
There is a famous Hongzhuangyuan porridge shop in Beijing, and they are well versed in porridge. There are also many porridge quotes posted on the walls of the porridge shop. The most famous one is "Porridge" from the Song Dynasty: "Eating a big bowl of porridge every day is the most wonderful way to eat."Su Dongpo also said, "It's wonderful to sleep after porridge." He must have been in Huangzhou and had nothing to do. There was no TV at that time, so he recited poems after porridge, and then fell asleep.
The variety of porridge in the porridge shop is quite different. There are quite a few, but there are only a few that people often eat, and there are dozens of varieties, such as eight-treasure porridge and black sesame seeds. glutinous rice porridge, millet millet white potato porridge, red bean porridge, hawthorn and lotus seed porridge, purple rice porridge , lily porridge, barley jujube yam porridge, tremella mung bean porridge, white tremella mung bean porridge, lotus seeds and lotus leaves Porridge, wild vegetable porridge, as well as white fungus and mung bean porridge, fruit ice porridge , Almond ice porridge, lotus leaf ice porridge, corn dregs porridge, parsley, golden bamboo shoots and beef porridge, spinach and chicken minced porridge, pork liver porridge, chive and crab stick porridge... there are so many kinds of porridge.
The porridge is originally a good thing, but There are so many varieties, it is unnecessary. Some are almost vulgar, such as fruit ice porridge, almond ice porridge and egg yolk porridge, which have become weird porridge and ruin the scenery. ml5
Some are pranks by some profit-seeking businessmen to make huge profits
A lunch in Jiuxian Town
Jiuxian Town in Taihe County was originally the former site of Taihe County. During the Dade period of the Song Dynasty, the county seat was moved to Xiyang, 20 miles away, and it became a town called Jiuxian Town. Taihe has a long history and culture, and it can be used as a business trip. In Taihe, it was noon when we arrived at Jiuxian Town, so we got off the bus and had lunch at a halal noodle restaurant. I felt something and decided to write it down.
The menu is as follows:
Sheep scorpion (lamb keel), braised lamb trotters, beef breast bone, steamed mutton, steamed yam, fried bean cakes, mixed cold skin (noodles), steamed vegetables, pink mutton soup, and the last plate noodles .
said that when eating Ban Mian, you don’t just eat a bowl of noodles, but mainly eat the sheep’s keel, the backbone of the sheep, because the backbones are segmented like a scorpion, also commonly known as a sheep scorpion. A large portion of the sheep scorpion is actually meat. Not much, the meat is all in the bones. The meat in the bones is more fragrant and more delicious. Everyone eats it with their hands, not only does it taste delicious, not to mention the meat in the bones. There are bones The marrow is the most delicious thing in the world. Braised mutton trotters and steamed mutton are more meaty. After eating two pieces of mutton trotters, you are almost half full. After drinking a bowl of steamed mutton soup, you can leave the table. Steamed mutton is fresh, meat Tender, it is delicious. Stir-fried bean cakes are mainly stir-fried with green vegetables, and mung bean cakes are the best. The key to mixing the dough is sesame sauce, followed by bean sprouts, green garlic and sesame oil. Everything in the world has been matched. Just like plum blossoms match the sky full of snow, and long rivers match the setting sun, so does Chinese food. For example, stir-fried bean sprouts with leeks must be mung bean sprouts , and leeks are the main ingredient and bean sprouts are the supplement. They must not be reversed. Fuyang Another good thing is steamed vegetables. Depending on the season, any vegetable can be steamed. For example, sweet potato seedlings and acacia flowers can be steamed, and a wild vegetable called dan noodles (because the leaves look like noodles) can also be steamed and eaten. Steamed vegetables should be coated in flour and steamed in a pot. After steaming and cooling thoroughly, add garlic paste and sprinkle with green garlic. Make sure there is as much garlic paste as possible.
Of course, you still have to eat a bowl of pan noodles. The board has to be really thrown on the board, so that it has that energy. A large blue porcelain bowl is used to eat Ban Mian. The noodles are as wide as a finger and nearly a foot long. A bowl of flat noodles, if you pick it up, only has about four or five noodles. Because it is made of soup stock (mutton soup), it tastes delicious and the noodles are very chewy. Served with green vegetables and fungus (spinach is also acceptable), green, black, white, and a blue flower porcelain bowl, it is quite eye-catching. It's a pity that the noodles were served last. I was already full, so if I eat any more noodles, the taste will be gone.
By the way, a few years ago, I had beef soup in Fuyang. The soup was so clear that it was like white water. You could drink it in your mouth. It was so fresh and delicious. As for the Shatang people in Suxian County, I don’t hate them either. After drinking two bowls of it, my heart is warm and my lungs are warm. I feel really lively all morning long.Unlike my hometown near Yangzhou , where two bowls of porridge are given every morning, hunger breaks out in the stomach within a short while. His eyes were black, his heart palpitated, his hands were wet, and his limbs were limp. Taihe belongs to the Huaibei Plain, located in Fuyang, near Zhengzhou. The toughness of the Central Plains people can also be seen from this.
Mid-Autumn Festival Random thoughts
Mid-Autumn Festival I returned to for three days without seeing a single friend. I stayed at home for three days, it was really a "stay" for three days. I sat in the living room, basking in the sun at the door, and watched part of "The Life of Marquez". People, after middle age they become a bit dull. I still remember that when I was crazy a few years ago, it suddenly became quiet, as if it went from noon to afternoon very quickly.
The loofah I planted has a knot, but I don’t know why it doesn’t knot very well. It has many vines growing. It was quite difficult to get such a knot not long ago. But this one grows very fast. After a few days, it suddenly grew a lot, and it seemed like it was ready to eat. I went down to take a look just now. The Mid-Autumn Festival moon stopped in the sky and just emerged from the clouds. I bowed to the moon several times, and bought mooncakes, fresh lotus roots (all beard and feet) and pomegranates in Tianchang. I was planning to pay tribute in the evening, but when I looked out the window, I saw that the sky was very cloudy, so I guess I wouldn't be able to see it tonight. Unexpectedly, it was almost midnight, but the moon still came out. Why do you want to pay homage? For nature, we should respect it. It is better to respect nature less than to respect it more. My mother told me this morning: If you don’t respect the moon during the Mid-Autumn Festival, you will encounter rain and snow when you go out. have a look! My mother said it! In fact, it is summed up by the working people in production and life. You don’t have to listen to other words, but you still have to listen to the words of the working people.
Therefore, it seems that tonight we have to offer the "four items" - moon cakes, water chestnuts, fresh lotus roots and pomegranates one by one, and sincerely worship the moon (a friend of mine told me that in their hometown, men are not worshiped. month, I don’t know why?), in order to ensure the peace and prosperity of the country and the people’s well-being.
But, having said that, my loofah is already quite big. Should I eat it or let it grow old? Or maybe it was picked and eaten by others, which is impossible to say. what to do? To eat or to stay? What do you think? Eating is to be worthy of the fruits of one's own labor. Even if it is only one piece, enjoying it carefully and leaving memories is also the best souvenir. Keeping it is a sign of reluctance. Letting it grow old slowly and then drifting away with the wind is also a sign of respect for it. Seeing it from birth to death is also a personal witness to the life of a loofah. The so-called autumn of vegetation is also my own "autumn". I once had a fate with a loofah. This seed met me. I buried it in the soil of my home and it produced fruit. It was not a seed in vain and my life was in vain. It is also a kind of fate. In fact, it is just an ordinary seed, no different from thousands of seeds. It affects my emotions and is remembered by me just because it has a relationship with me, just like a child was born in me. Home, he (she) is my child, and it will affect my feelings, and even affect my life. This is life, this is the destiny that is unknown to others, and in terms of fate, this is it. By extension, it makes sense.
Loofah, or the moon, are what I care about now. If a person is concerned, it means he still has love. Love is actually also a kind of care. I once said in an article: People's feelings must be constantly worried about something, so that they can be enriched. He once said: Feelings, being held by others, are actually reflecting on your own feelings.
Isn’t the emotion I expressed about Luffa and the Moon today also reflecting on my own emotions?
Features Fish Balls
Not long ago, I went to Xinghua, Jiangsu Province to enjoy the scenery. I visited the ancient town of Shagou. Standing on the street, I ate a few fish balls freshly caught in the oil pan. They were fresh, tender and extremely elastic. Can't forget.
The group of people all used a bamboo stick to pierce the fish balls and concentrate on eating them. In the eyes of pedestrians on the street, it is not funny, but it can also be said to be a sight. Everyone commented while eating, saying that the fish used to make fish balls must be Qingkun. Fresh fish is the first priority. Of course, fine workmanship is also essential.First of all, it requires knife skills to slice out the fresh fish meat layer by layer, which requires considerable skill. It should be even and thin, then chop it slowly and add a small amount of egg white. Adding egg white depends entirely on your eyesight (if you add too little, the fish balls will be hard; if you add too much, they will fall apart), add a little salt, use scallion white water, and slowly scoop and fish it out. There are certain things to pay attention to when doing this. Good fish balls must be "alive". After putting it in the pan, it needs to expand in the oil pan so that it becomes elastic.
Taixing writer Pang Yuliang seemed quite experienced. He said: "You can see the fish balls are jumping." He pointed to a pot of freshly fished fish balls. If the fish is jumping, it means it's fresh, if it's not jumping, it's "dead". I was greatly surprised by his insightful remarks. Just think about it, if you kill a live fish and chop it into pieces, the cells of the fish are still "alive"! The meat is jumping, which is reasonable.
I said, should I add a little starch to hook it up?
"No, it will die in one bite. Just use egg white."
I ate a few pieces and tasted them carefully. It was really like that, as if the fish meat was really dancing in my mouth.
years ago, I also had fish balls at Nvshanhu in Mingguang. Drive a small boat to the center of the lake and get on a large boat that has stopped in the middle of the lake. After entering the cabin and sitting down, fish and shrimps are caught and processed right away. The river water is now cooking river fish, and the river water is now blanching river shrimps. I also had fish balls, and I remember how delicious they were.
In Shagou, I also drank a bowl of green vegetable soup. It was the owner who encouraged me to have a bowl. Later, it was introduced that this is chicken feather vegetable (meaning very thin), which is grown from rapeseed that has not been improved in the past.
I drank a bowl and it was very refreshing. When I chewed the vegetable stems, there was no residue at all. Is everything in
improved? not necessarily.
This unimproved piece of chicken is hard to see now.
Chinese New Year and Eating
As soon as several cold snaps come, almost all the leaves on the trees have fallen. Thousands of trees are thin when the cold comes, and the body is not light at all in autumn. People put on sweaters when their faces feel cool when they go out; if there is one or two cold snaps, winter has really arrived. The sky begins to snow, and as Lu Xun said, the end of the old calendar year is most like the end of the year, and it is almost the Spring Festival.
In my memory, the Chinese New Year is all about eating. When I was in the county, it was still a township after all, and the first thing that concerned me at home was steamed buns. The buns had to be steamed in a special place, and my mother had to wash and steam them, so the task of queuing up with the stuffing fell on me. This is not an easy task, and you have to wait there with great patience. Because it takes a long time to steam a restaurant, in the days before the Spring Festival, the restaurant is steamed all night long. If you are lucky, you can come out in the first half of the night; if you are unlucky, it is normal to come out at one or two o'clock in the second half of the night. Since the afternoon, I have been waiting in the steaming mist. People are busy, and the cages of soft hot buns are lying on an excessive, flat curtain of red grass to cool down. I will take a look at my own washbasin for stuffing. After steaming, I will move my own washbasin forward to prevent others from jumping in line.
It was almost ninety o'clock in the evening, and I finally arrived at my home. The first cage came out and fell on the curtain. At that moment I felt very rich. You can eat it casually, but you should pick the ones with transparent skin and oozing oil and eat them hot. My mother is very good at cooking, so the fillings of steamed buns are also very good: there are two kinds: meat filling and bean paste filling. The taste is also better than others. I ate two hot meat-filled ones and stopped. After waiting for several baskets, the bean paste came out, and I calmed down and enjoyed the fragrant taste that filled my mouth. That red red bean paste is extremely glutinous, fragrant and sweet. I was so happy that I really wanted to run around the street twice and then wag my imaginary tail. I think nothing can leave a better memory for a child than eating.
After eating this free meal, the steamed buns brought home did not feel so free to eat. Baozi returned home and hid behind the mosquito net on the bed in his mother's bedroom. It is up to the mother to decide how much to eat in a meal. Because mother has to calculate to eat. These more than one hundred steamed buns are eaten until the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, and guests have to be entertained. There are relatively few sweet fillings ordered with red dots, so they still have to be eaten.
The smell of salty goods wafted from the kitchen. salted chicken , salted duck, pig head, pig tail , pork ribs and beans, the hot steam floated out of the kitchen and wandered in the yard. The wintersweet flowers are blooming in the yard, and in one corner, many black vegetables are planted, and they are green and shiny. The hot air mixed with the smell of wintersweet, pressed against the square tiled floor of the yard. I am still short, so I ran in the heat, as if I was flying close to the ground. Those are some typical holiday smells. It only really comes once a year. The salty goods were ready, and my mother put them in a large bamboo basket filled with vegetables. I started to circle around the bamboo basket, and when my mother wasn't paying attention, I picked up the ribs in the ribs beans to eat, tore the breast of the salted chicken, and bit into a piece of pig tail. Beating is indispensable, because there are times when I am not paying attention. Being beaten because of eating is perfectly normal for children. Fighting is also an atmosphere, and it is also part of the Chinese New Year. After all, adults are the most like adults when it comes to reprimanding children.
There was the sound of firecrackers. One in the east, one in the west... That's because in a house with many children, the children are naughty, so let them play first. In the dusk of the thirties, the atmosphere seems to be even more tense. My father began to stick to the door, my mother swept the floor, and she also paid homage to the deceased. Dusk falls and the fog (night air) slowly rises. Continuous firecrackers sounded far and near, and the whole county was amidst the huge noise. The father went to close the courtyard door, and the whole family relaxed. My father sat down to smoke, and my mother had a smile on her face. New Year's Eve has begun.
I woke up to the sound of firecrackers on the morning of the first grade of junior high school. Put on new clothes, get up and shout loudly: Mom! dad! Touch the pockets of your new clothes: 10 yuan! 10 yuan wrapped in red paper! Haha, New Year's money . The child's face immediately lit up with endless happiness. Breakfast is another memory of the year for me. On the morning of the first day of the Lunar New Year, I eat dumplings. My mother’s dumplings are big and thin, stuffed with lard and sesame. It's very mouthwatering and very hot, so you have to bite it in small bites. After eating four or five, my belly will be round and round.
The following is a gluttonous day. Melon seeds, peanuts, sugar, big cakes. At the end of the day, my mouth is non-stop. You can also eat three meals a day. Meat balls, tofu balls, braised fish soup, lotus root clips , roasted pork with kelp, cherry meat, salted chicken, salted duck, pig tail...all kinds of salty goods. They all eat and drink indiscriminately. hiccups has already tasted bad, but it still can't stop. Snow began to fall in the sky. For a few hours, it was snowy outside. We went out, and in the snow, a group of children chased each other, and their little hands were red with cold! We grew up in the wind, breathing the fresh air in the snow, and slowly grew up...
The years of childhood have gone far, and they have become beautiful memories buried deep in our hearts. Nowadays, years are responsibilities. Parents are getting older, and aging parents are their children. The New Year is here again, let’s plan a plan and give our parents in my hometown a good New Year.
Mother came to the city
After wandering around for many years, she finally settled down one day. My mother from the countryside called me and said that she had not been able to stay at my small home for many years, but now she had settled in the provincial capital, which was only about 500 miles away from my hometown. The autumn season was good, and she planned to come and stay for a while. Of course the son is happy.
The night before departure, my mother got up at about one o'clock in the night, killed two old hens, stripped off their feathers, and washed them clean. My mother said that she lived in a high-rise building in the city and it was inconvenient to kill chickens. Don't mess with the chicken feathers. Neighbors, mother is very thoughtful. While nagging, the mother took something out of the black mesh bag: a bottle of chili sauce she made herself, and split a pile of water chestnut rice for her granddaughter.
I blamed my mother: Are you really saying that city people don’t eat chicken? Nowadays, chickens are bought and killed immediately, and cooked right after they are brought back. You are really thoughtful: Where do you throw the chicken feathers? What I’m telling you is that what I bought is a chicken without feathers! You see, the chili sauce and the water chestnut rice are both annoying things to make a living, but you are so thoughtful! The mother didn’t say a word when her son said this, but on the face There is an obvious look of displeasure.
My wife kicked me.I said, "Mom, my son feels sorry for you. You are over sixty. You get up at one o'clock at night and get on the bus at five o'clock. Look, it's almost noon. Can you bear it after six or seven hours of driving?" Mother He whispered: Anyway, my back hurts, so I can't sleep...
said and sat down to eat. In order to welcome my mother, we specially made several dishes: fried pork chops, roasted chicken with green beans, stir-fried cabbage hearts with mushrooms , tofu mixed with bracken and pork ribs and vegetable soup. At the dinner table, the child was excited and asked his grandma how the baby (a dog) at home was doing? I will ask if and can speak? Our child is so crazy that we have been urging him to eat quickly for a long time, but he has been eating for half a year! I couldn't help but get angry and said: "Eat quickly, I will beat you!" The child had a grandma, and she said like a boss: "What are you doing? Swearing is not a good father!"
I was so angry that I went up and hit the child on the forehead with a chopstick, and the child burst into tears with a cry of "Wow--". Grandma felt distressed: No one beats their children like you do!
I suddenly thought: "You ungrateful thing! We were not allowed to eat it in the past, but you are not willing to eat it now! Grandma is here, when we were children , there are guests at home, and children are not allowed to serve. Even if they are served, if the chopsticks stick into the dishes for the guests, your grandma will be the chopstick leader..."
Before I could finish my words, my mother threw away the chopsticks. Stop eating. Tears welled up in his eyes as he spoke.
I panicked now and realized that I had let something slip. He quickly apologized to my mother: "Mom, I'm just joking, you always take it seriously, okay, I won't say it anymore."
The mother then broke down in tears and smiled. The mother said: "We were poor at that time. Your father only had a few dozen yuan a month. The family situation was big. It's not that your mother didn't let you eat, but... you are an adult now and you have settled old scores with your mother. You are really a useful son." ..."
Between crying and laughing, it’s time for us to go to work. Mother cleaned up the dishes alone. Nothing happened to dinner. After dinner, we went to bed. Since our house only had two beds in one room, my mother, wife, and daughter slept in the big bed, while I slept in the small bed. Lying down early, not feeling sleepy. The children were making trouble for their grandma to tell stories. Grandma casually joked: When your father was a child, he was like a starving ghost who was reincarnated and complained that he was hungry all day long. At that time, our family lived in the countryside, and your grandfather worked in the county. Your father sat on the wall all day long with his legs dangling, stretching his neck to look for your grandfather to come back. When he came home, he would have delicious food...
said As he spoke, the child fell asleep.
I didn't feel sleepy at all, and my mother couldn't sleep at all, so we, mother and son, talked about ancient times. I said: "Mom, you often opened your locked cabinet secretly for me and stole longan to eat on the way to school." Mom said: "Son, you once touched a lot of small hairy crabs somewhere. You ate and ate. Your stomach hurts at night, it scares your dad and I to death..."
Caregiver
That night, it was said on TV that tomorrow would be the Jingzhe: "The Jingzhe of the Insects will dissolve the earth, and don't relax when you are hoeing." I didn't expect to get up in the morning, but there was a heavy snow. The wind is chilly, the snowflakes are drifting slightly, and the outside world is filled with white flowers. Just after I arrived in the kitchen, I was looking for the leftover porridge from last night. My wife shouted in the back room: "I'm hungry! I want to eat porridge!"
I couldn't hear her cry. I'm in the kitchen, two doors away. I didn't hear her scream until I heard her scream, and I quickly ran over: "Just a bowl of porridge, just warmed up. Are you going to eat it in bed or get up?"
"I'll eat it in bed!"
"Get dressed quickly, the porridge is already there." It’s in the bowl, it’s almost cold!”
I cut her into diced dried cilantro, poured it with sesame oil and fresh chili sauce, and brought the porridge over to her. She had already sat up. So he put a piece of newspaper on it, handed her the porridge, gently closed the bedroom door, and walked back to the living room. Just as he was about to take a step, he turned back and looked through the crack in the door. She was drinking it with gusto!
went back to the kitchen and thought: Haha, it’s snowing outside the window, the weather is cold, and it’s the happiest thing to do, especially for women, who are lazy, if they are a little sick, such as having their period or something. Something happened.
I was dawdling in the kitchen for a while, and someone called me again, hurry over, the porridge has been finished. She said: "I'm not full, I want to eat some noodles, thin, with some vinegar and garlic leaves..."
I said to her: "On this snowy day, I am happiest in bed. You can "Let's warm it up!"
She said, "Bring me today's newspaper by the way!"
I took back the morning newspaper and showed it to her, then went to the kitchen to boil the water.
When I was boiling water, I thought: Just fry some small fish and serve it to her! The day before yesterday I came back from Gaoyou and crossed the Shuanghe River by the Gaoyou Lake (the name of this place is so good!). There were several fishermen there shouting and selling small miscellaneous fish. After walking past, I turned back again. The small fish here must be fresh and delicious, don’t miss it! So I bought a small pile for 10 yuan. When I came back, I packed it up and put it away.
Take out four strips, put them on the pan and fry them. After a while, the whole house will be filled with fragrance. The one-inch-long fish was browned and crispy on both sides. I sent it over while it was still hot and made some noodles. When I finished making the noodles and brought them over, she was eating them seriously on the bed. The four small fishes had been eaten up, leaving only four fish bones neatly arranged on the plate. I said, "Is it fried tender?"
"Some are OK, and some are a little tender." After a while, she said, "When you eat this, just think of yourself as a kitten!"
She finished eating , people also became quiet and began to flip through the newspapers, with no intention of getting up. I finished cleaning up myself and started tinkering in the study. The snow outside the window is noisy and rolling in the sky. It was almost noon, but it didn't stop. The rooftops in the distance were already completely white.
was flipping through books in the study room. Thinking about women today, it is really sad. They have lost their elegance. All the hectic life makes them farther and farther away from motherhood. If you think about it, a woman who is angry and frustrated must not have a leisurely and calm heart. A woman will be in a good mood if she is pampered occasionally. Generally speaking, when she is in a good mood, she looks good and her femininity comes out. In fact, women are born to take care of themselves. On such a snowy day, it is not bad to take care of your wife occasionally. Life is too short to have such fun! I don't read many books. When I look at old poetry, most of women's poems and lyrics are full of resentment. The happiness that remains in the years, remember Shen Fu's "Six Chapters of a Floating Life", in the first and second chapters, Chen Yun is so happy! Lin Yutang's "The Biography of Su Dongpo" tells the story of father, son and two daughters-in-law marching to the capital. At this time, the father and son had already achieved fame. The two brothers' wives knew that they were accompanying their Jinshi husband when they went out. The scenery along the way was pleasant, with beautiful lakes and mountains. I think this is the happiest time in these two women's lives.
There was music coming from the bedroom next door. This is Bandari's "Morning Light", which is my wife's favorite music. The slow melody and the melodious tunes played by the platoon and oboe will fascinate her endlessly. I walked over and she was getting up in a hurry to go to the toilet. I said, "Are you still sleeping?"
"She's sleeping!"
"Where are you?"
She didn't answer, but hurriedly curled up again. on the bed. I'm too lazy to bother her anymore. On such a snowy day, it is the happiest time for a woman to lie in bed.
Cloud Piece Cake
When I returned to my hometown during the Spring Festival, I received many pieces of Cloud Piece Cake, all produced by the Tongcheng Town Pastry Factory in our county. Tongcheng Big Cake is a famous specialty. According to the county annals: "As thin as white paper, it can be ignited, rolled like a cigarette, and will not break." Its production process is very particular, and the ratio of rice flour, sugar, lard and water is very strict. Stewed over slow fire, the knife skills are exquisite, and it can be said that the knife is cut to the bottom. Such a big cake is soft, refreshing and not greasy.
I don’t go home very often, so my main task during the Spring Festival is to visit relatives. On the first day of the new year, I went to my fourth aunt's house in the countryside. My uncle had passed away many years ago, and my aunt lived alone in the countryside. When we arrived at the village, our aunt came out to greet us from afar. Afterwards, we sat in the yard and had melon seeds, candies, and of course, big cakes. Nowadays, people no longer eat big cakes, and big cakes have become a symbol. The fourth aunt must let my child eat two slices, which means he will get better and better. The child was not satisfied and had to eat a few slices. Even I can't escape and have to eat a few slices, because in my aunt's heart, I will always be a child. I remember the year when my fourth uncle was alive, we went to pay New Year greetings. My fourth uncle was sitting on a wicker chair under the winter sun, wrapped in a thick coat. At that time, my uncle had been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. He sat on the wicker chair calmly. I light a cigarette for him. The cigarette was on his lips, and his saliva flowed down unconsciously. He twisted his body to get the cake for me. I said no, no, no. The fourth uncle said: "This is Yunpian cake, Tongcheng big cake..."
Within a few months, the fourth uncle left.
The next day I went to the third aunt's house. The third aunt's waist was bent to the ground. She tried her best to look at us with her head held high. The village is very depressed in winter, the tall trees are bare, and the chickens, dogs, and pigs in the village are still very active, showing the vitality of the village. The third aunt still made a dustpan and brought out a lot of food. Of course, the cloud cake was very necessary. In the next few days, we went to my aunt's house and my aunt's house...
came back to count, ha! There are almost seven or eight large cakes collected.
I was reading "The Scholars" a few days ago and read the third chapter "Wang Xiaolian Village Learned the Same Subject". Shen Xiangfu and his party discussed setting up a school at Guanyin Temple at the entrance of the village. The monk brought out a tea tray - cloud cake, red dates, and Two tables were set up with some melon seeds, dried tofu, and various colored candies... I felt very friendly. Wu Jingzi is from Quanjiao, not far from my hometown. He may have been to my hometown or met him in Yangzhou. Reading further, to the sixth chapter, it is about Yan Gongsheng's return to his hometown, which really makes people laugh:
They were about to arrive in Gaoyao County that day, but they were only twenty or thirty miles away. Yan Gongsheng was sitting on the boat and suddenly felt dizzy. When he came up, his eyes were dim, he felt nauseated in his mouth, and vomited a lot of phlegm. Laifu and Si Douzi (names), one on each side, holding their arms, just about to fall. Yan Gongsheng shouted: "No! No!" and asked Sidouzi to quickly boil a pot of water. Si Douzi put him to sleep, humming without a sound. Si Douzi hurriedly boiled water with the boatman and brought it into the cabin. Yan Gongsheng opened the box with the key and took out a box of cloud cake, with about ten pieces, one piece at a time. He peeled off a few pieces and ate a few pieces. He rubbed his belly and farted twice, and he felt better immediately.
Yan Gongsheng put the remaining pieces of cloud cake on the board of the boat and did not come to check them for a long time. The boatman was hungry and suffered from hunger and tuberculosis, so he picked them up one by one in his mouth. Yan Gongsheng saw it. , and pretended not to see him, just silent. When they got off the ship, all the suitcases and cages were packed away, and the boatman and sailors were asking for money (tips). Yan Gongsheng suddenly turned around and walked into the cabin. His eyes were filled with disappointment, and he asked Si Douzi: "Where did my medicine go?" Si Douzi I don't know: "What kind of medicine was there?" Yan Gongsheng said: "What I took just now was not medicine, it was clearly on the board of the ship!"
The boatman and the helmsman said: "I thought. They were some pieces of cloud cake on the boat. They were leftover by the master, so I ate them boldly."
Yan Gongsheng said: "What a cheap cloud cake! "Something?" Then he made some nonsense and said it was worth dozens of taels of silver. It was "the ginseng brought by Mr. Zhang from the province when he was an official in Shangdang, and the coptis brought by Mr. Zhou when he was an official in Sichuan." Then he yelled, "You slave, you have done me a lot of harm. If I get sick again in the future, what medicine can I use to cure it?"
roared wildly, frightening the boatman and the helmsman half to death. How dare they please money, they had to kneel down and beg for mercy. Yan Gongsheng was still angrily: "You said it was cloud cake! Let's talk about cloud cake. Let me slap you in the mouth first!"
I couldn't help but laugh after reading this. This Yan Gongsheng was really humorous. But, is it Yan Gongsheng? In fact, it is Wu Jingzi's humor. This is great humor, humor that makes people cry.
