China Aviation News: Russian Il-76 and Il-78 military transport aircraft chief designer Andrei Yulasov revealed in an interview with "Star" TV that the Il-76MD-90A military transport aircraft is effective The load has been increased from 48 tons to 60 tons, the flight distance has been increased by 18%, and fuel consumption has been reduced by 12% to 15%. The
Il-76MD-90A is a modification of the Il-76 transport aircraft, developed by Ilyushin. Ilyushin is currently the main company in the transportation and aviation sector of the United Aircraft Manufacturing Group of Russia. Its subsidiaries include the Ulyanov Aerostar Plant, which is undergoing batch production of the Il-76MD-90A. Although
looks similar, there is a fundamental difference in performance between the Il-76MD-90A and the Il-76. The IL-76MD-90A can perform most of the military air transportation missions. It is equipped with a PS90A-76 engine with greater thrust, which can provide greater take-off, landing and cruise characteristics, increase payload and flight distance, and reduce fuel. Consumption can meet the ground noise reduction and hazardous substance emission requirements.
The landing gear of the aircraft has been redesigned to withstand a take-off weight of 210 tons (including a 60-ton payload). It has high safety and can be used on airports with various conditions including airstrips.
