Yang Jingyu is a famous anti-Japanese national hero in my country and one of the main founders and leaders of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces. Later, Yang Jingyu was betrayed by a traitor. On February 23, 1940, he fought alone with the Japanese army for several days and nights in the ice and snow. After running out of ammunition and food, he died heroically. He was only 35 years old at the time.

After Yang Jingyu died, the Japanese army still refused to let him go. The enemy brutally cut off his head and transported it to Tonghua City for public display in an attempt to deter the anti-Japanese armed forces.

At the same time, the Japanese army was very puzzled as to how Yang Jingyu could fight for several days and nights alone without food. In order to understand Xing's confusion, the enemy dissected Yang Jingyu's body to see what was in his stomach.

But what surprised the Japanese army was that when Yang Jingyu’s body was dissected, they found that there was no food in his stomach, only bark and cotton wool. In other words, during Yang Jingyu's several days of fighting alone, he ate cotton wool and tree bark to maintain his physical fitness.

This not only reflects the revolutionary spirit of Yang Jingyu, but also reflects the material shortage of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces in the cold weather and the difficulty of life during the Anti-Japanese War.

Although Yang Jingyu died, his revolutionary spirit will never disappear, because he will always live in the hearts of the people, and the country and people will never forget him.

Later Yang Jingyu was named one of the 100 heroic model figures who made outstanding contributions to the founding of New China.

Yang Jingyu’s life was a life of revolution, a life of fighting, a glorious life, and a life of perseverance. In his 35 years of life, he wrote a tragic and glorious chapter. His heroic deeds will always be recorded in the annals of history and will always be worthy of praise by the people.

After Yang Jingyu's death, the party and the people gave him high praise and honors, many of which are unique. For example:

Yang Jingyu was the only Central Executive Committee member of the Chinese Soviet Republic in the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces, and the only revolutionary martyr named by the Central Committee in a telegram. He is the only member of the Communist Party of China who was elected as a member of the honorary presidium of the Anti-Fascist Conference of Eastern Nationalities alongside Mao Zedong and Zhu De. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Yang Jingyu was the only revolutionary martyr to be buried with the status of Politburo member and marshal. He is the only revolutionary martyr to have wreaths laid by Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Zhou Enlai and Liu Shaoqi respectively.

These are the only recognition for Yang Jingyu and his honor. He is well-deserved.

Although Yang Jingyu died, his revolutionary spirit will always be worthy of admiration by future generations.

What kind of legendary experience does Yang Jingyu have? Let us find out below.

Yang Jingyu, formerly known as Ma Shangde, was born in February 1905 into a poor family in Queshan County, Henan.

When Yang Jingyu was five years old, his father died of illness. For families that were already poor, life becomes even more difficult when the backbone of the family is gone. Although life is difficult, it still needs to go on, so Yang Jingyu and his mother depend on each other.

Fortunately, with the help of his uncle, Yang Jingyu was able to enter the school. Yang Jingyu cherished this hard-won opportunity to study, so he studied very hard.

As Yang Jingyu grew older, he gradually became dissatisfied and rebellious against the turbulent and dark society in front of him.

Because the country was in a weak and turbulent period at that time, with warlords fighting internally and powerful enemies bullying externally, Yang Jingyu saw that the country was weak and the people were poor, so he had the ambition to save the country and the people.

By 1923, 18-year-old Yang Jingyu entered the Henan Provincial Kaifeng Textile Industry School to study. In this school, he came into contact with progressive thinkers, and even more with Marxist ideas. Under the guidance and influence of progressive thinkers, he began to secretly participate in revolutionary activities while he was in school.

In 1925, the May 30th Movement broke out. Yang Jingyu took to the streets and actively took to the streets to publicize and support the May 30th Movement.

In 1926, Yang Jingyu joined the Communist Youth League of China.

At this time, the peasant movement was going on vigorously across the country. In order to cooperate with the success of the Northern Expedition, Yang Jingyu returned to his hometown, Queshan, Kaifeng, in the winter of 1926 to launch the peasant movement.

After Yang Jingyu returned to Queshan , he quickly held the first

Queshan County Farmers Association Congress. At the meeting, Yang Jingyu was elected president of the County Farmers Association. By the beginning of 1927, the membership of the Queshan Agricultural Association had grown to more than 10,000.

Of course, Yang Jingyu knew in his heart that if he wanted to consolidate the fruits of victory brought by the peasant movement and let the people truly be the masters, it would not work without armed forces. Therefore, Yang Jingyu decided to establish the Peasant Self-Defense Force.

After that, under Yang Jingyu’s planning and organization, Queshan County finally had the Farmers’ Self-Defense Force, and it also had its own guns. As the team continued to develop, it gradually became an influential local force.

On April 4, 1927, Yang Jingyu led tens of thousands of peasants in Queshan to riot. On April 8, Yang Jingyu led his troops into Queshan County.

Although it was that the Kuomintang and the Communist Party cooperated before, it was a period of vigorous revolution. On the surface, the revolutionary situation seemed to be great, but in fact it was hidden, because the Kuomintang reactionaries were always thinking about the Qing and Communist affairs, and this day was coming soon.

On April 12, 1927, Chiang Kai-shek launched the "April 12" counter-revolutionary coup in Shanghai. Since then, the vigorous revolution has failed.

After the April 12 counter-revolutionary coup in Shanghai, counter-revolutionary coups were also launched in various parts of China. After that, the Kuomintang reactionaries began to arrest and massacre communists, resulting in countless communists dying under the butcher knives of the Kuomintang reactionaries.

The ruthless arrest and massacre of the Kuomintang reactionaries put the land of China under white terror.

However, although the butcher knife of the Kuomintang reactionaries was sharp, it did not intimidate the determined Communists and revolutionaries. Facing the murder of their comrades and comrades-in-arms, they turned their grief into strength and continued to move forward to complete the unfinished legacy of their fallen comrades.

At this critical moment, Yang Jingyu resolutely joined the Communist Party of China in May of the same year. It embodies his revolutionary spirit without hesitation.

On August 7, 1927, the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee held an emergency meeting in Hankou, Hankou, China. This meeting was called the "August 7th Meeting". At the meeting, Mao Zedong put forward the famous idea of "power comes from the barrel of a gun." At the same time, this meeting also determined the general policy of agrarian revolution and armed struggle.

After the August 7th Meeting, in accordance with the spirit of the meeting, Yang Jingyu organized and launched the Liudian Autumn Harvest Riot, which not only effectively protected the interests of farmers, but also established county-level peasant-worker revolutionary regimes led by the Communist Party. At the same time, he also established the first revolutionary armed force in Henan, which was the Queshan County Peasant Revolutionary Army. Since then, the Agrarian Revolutionary War in Henan began.

In 1929, through organizational arrangements, Yang Jingyu was transferred to the Northeast to carry out revolutionary work.

In 1932, Yang Jingyu went to South Manchuria and formed the 32nd Army South Manchuria Guerrillas and the 37th Army Hailong Guerrillas of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. In half a year, Yang Jingyu led the guerrillas to fight the Japanese army more than 60 times.

In 1933, according to the instructions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the guerrillas led by Yang Jingyu were reorganized into the 1st Independent Division of the Northeast People's Revolutionary Army. Later, due to the continuous growth of the army, it was expanded into the 1st Army of the Northeast People's Revolutionary Army in 1934, with Yang Jingyu as the army commander and political commissar.

In August 1935, the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Army was established based on the Northeastern People's Revolutionary Army, the Anti-Japanese Allied Army, and the guerrillas. Yang Jingyu was the commander and political commissar of the 1st Army of the Anti-Japanese Allied Army.

In 1936, the 1st Army and the 2nd Army of the Anti-Japanese Allied Forces were jointly organized into the First Route Army of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces, with Yang Jingyu serving as the commander-in-chief and political commissar.During the

period, Yang Jingyu led the troops to carry out the anti-Japanese struggle and continuously attacked the Japanese army. In order to eliminate the 1st Route Army of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces, the Japanese army launched many encirclement and suppression campaigns, but they were all crushed by Yang Jingyu.

Northeast is a cold place. When the Japanese army occupied the Northeast, the anti-Japanese coalition forces were very short of supplies. Sometimes they had nothing to eat and could only eat bark, grass roots and snow. But even so, the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces, led by Yang Jingyu, still fought the Japanese army in the arduous white mountains and black waters, and was able to deal a heavy blow to the Japanese rule of the Northeast.

It is precisely because of this that the Japanese army hates Yang Jingyu deeply and wants to remove this thorn in Yang Jingyu's side, but it is not that easy to catch Yang Jingyu. Therefore, the Japanese army called Yang Jingyu "the cancer of Manchuria's public security."

The enemy could not catch Yang Jingyu, and could not eliminate Yang Jingyu and the First Route Army of the Anti-Japanese Allied Forces in a short period of time, so the Japanese army wanted to persuade Yang Jingyu to surrender, and issued a message saying: If Yang Jingyu surrenders, not only will he be made the commander-in-chief, but also a sphere of influence will be designated for him.

Yang Jingyu is a determined revolutionary, an upright Chinese, and an outstanding son and daughter of China. How could he surrender to the Japanese army?

Therefore, Yang Jingyu said: "For the cause of national liberation, heads can be thrown and blood can be spilled. But the loyal will will not waver."

On July 7, 1937, the Marco Polo Bridge Incident broke out, which kicked off China's all-out war of resistance. At a time when the life and death of the country and the nation were at stake, the Kuomintang and the Communist Party put aside their past grievances, united in foreign affairs, and joined forces to resist Japan.

At this time, in order to cooperate with the national anti-Japanese situation, Yang Jingyu issued a notice in the name of the General Headquarters of the 1st Route Army of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces, exposing Japan's aggressive ambitions and calling on the people of all ethnic groups in the Northeast to unite to resist Japan. At the same time, Yang Jingyu led the troops to carry out anti-Japanese guerrilla struggles among the white mountains and black waters to contain the Japanese army to the greatest extent.

Under the leadership of Yang Jingyu, the 1st Route Army of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces actively attacked the Japanese army and caused a great blow to the Japanese army. Precisely because of this, the Japanese army assembled heavy troops to continuously launch a siege against Yang Jingyu, hoping to encircle and annihilate Yang Jingyu's tribe.

In early January 1940, as the Japanese army concentrated its forces to launch successive attacks on Yang Jingyu's tribe, coupled with the betrayal of traitors, Yang Jingyu's tribe, fighting between the white mountains and black waters, suffered heavy losses, and their number was reduced sharply from more than 2,000 to a few hundred.

Although Yang Jingyu's troops were extremely short of supplies and ammunition at the time and were in a world of ice and snow, they still persisted in fighting.

As the war continued, the number of Yang Jingyu's troops dropped sharply from hundreds to dozens.

By January 10, 1940, there were very few troops left under the leadership of Yang Jingyu. Including Yang Jingyu himself, there were only 12 people.

At this time, Yang Jingyu led the other eleven people to retreat while fighting. Unfortunately, due to the huge disparity in strength between the enemy and ourselves, by February 15, 1940, only two people were left with Yang Jingyu.

In this situation, Yang Jingyu knew in his heart that there was no way out, so he was prepared to die. And for this day, he had already been prepared since the day he joined the revolution.

Of course, although Yang Jingyu planned to die for his country, he still decided to fight to the end. Due to the constant pursuit and siege by the Japanese army, Yang Jingyu had been fighting for many days without eating. Yang Jingyu knew that he was the person the enemy wanted to arrest, so he asked the two remaining soldiers to find food.

But soon the Japanese army discovered Yang Jingyu's traces and surrounded him.

The enemy shouted to Yang Jingyu: "Surrender."

At this time, Yang Jingyu had few bullets left, but he still decided to use the only bullets to destroy the enemy to the maximum extent.

So, Yang Jingyu said: "I have something to say, come here alone."

The Japanese army thought that Yang Jingyu had the idea of surrender, which made the Japanese army very happy, because it was not easy for a big man like Yang Jingyu to surrender. If Yang Jingyu really surrenders, this will definitely have a great deterrent effect on the anti-Japanese coalition forces.

So, the enemy said: "Okay, I'll go over right away."

At this time, Yang Jingyu was ready. When the Japanese soldier came towards him, he suddenly shot the Japanese soldier to death.

Seeing that Yang Jingyu was still unwilling to surrender, the enemy ordered to shoot Yang Jingyu. Yang Jingyu took advantage of the favorable terrain and continued to fight the Japanese army alone for several days and nights.

On February 18, 1940, two soldiers sent by Yang Jingyu to find food were also killed by the Japanese army. From then on, Yang Jingyu truly fought alone.

On February 23, the enemy found where Yang Jingyu was. At this time, Yang Jingyu had not eaten for many days. Being tired and hungry, he no longer had the physical strength to fight or run.

It was also on this day that Yang Jingyu died heroically. He was only 35 years old at the time.

After Yang Jingyu died, the enemy brutally chopped off his head and transported it to Tonghua City for public display.

At the same time, the Japanese army did not understand how Yang Jingyu could persist in fighting for several days and nights without eating. In order to understand the mystery in his heart, the enemy decided to see what was in his stomach? So a doctor was called in to dissect Yang Jingyu's body.

But what the enemy didn't expect was that there was no food in Yang Jingyu's stomach, only cotton wool and grass roots. In other words, Yang Jingyu relied on cotton wool and tree bark to satisfy his hunger.

When Yang Jingyu ran out of ammunition and food, he ate cotton wool and grass roots to satisfy his hunger and still persisted in fighting. These are our revolutionary martyrs, these are our anti-Japanese heroes, and these are the Chinese heroes.

Although Yang Jingyu died, the country and people will never forget him. In memory of Yang Jingyu, Mengjiang County was renamed Jingyu County .

Yang Jingyu was later selected as one of the 100 heroic model figures who made outstanding contributions to the founding of New China. In September 2014, he was included in the first batch of 300 famous anti-Japanese heroes and heroes announced by the Ministry of Civil Affairs.

In fact, Yang Jingyu's sacrifice was mainly the result of being betrayed by several traitors around him.

Who are the traitors who betrayed Yang Jingyu? What is their outcome?

Because the Northeast is a freezing environment and an important place occupied by the Japanese army, under the harsh environment and lack of materials, Northeast Anti-Japanese Alliance In this difficult anti-war situation, many traitors appeared, and the four traitors who led to the sacrifice of Yang Jingyu were Cheng Bin, Zhang Xiufeng, Zhao Tingxi and Zhang Xiruo.

Cheng Bin was the division commander of the 1st Division of the 1st Army of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces. He was Yang Jingyu's most trusted and relied-upon general. He had fought many victorious battles with Yang Jingyu, but just such a man rebelled and surrendered to the enemy.

Cheng Bin followed Yang Jingyu very early. Under Yang Jingyu's training, he gradually grew into a senior general in the Northeast Anti-Resistance Alliance, so he won Yang Jingyu's trust.

It is precisely because he grew up next to Yang Jingyu and was trusted by Yang Jingyu that he knows Yang Jingyu's living habits and combat style very well. It is precisely because of this that when he betrayed the country and surrendered to the enemy, he dealt a fatal blow to Yang Jingyu.

In 1938, Cheng Bin led more than a hundred people to rebel and surrender to the Japanese army. After that, the Japanese army formed the "Cheng Bin Advance Team", making him the captain and starting to fight with his former comrades.

After Cheng Bin surrendered to the enemy, in order to contribute to the Japanese army, he led his troops to destroy the secret camp of the Northeast Anti-Resistance Alliance. (The secret camp is an important place for the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces to store supplies in the deep mountains and dense forests, so the secret camp is the most basic guarantee for the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces to survive.)

However, because of Cheng Bin's rebellion, more than 70 secret camps were destroyed by the enemy, thus cutting off Yang Jingyu's supply guarantee, and Yang Jingyu gradually fell into a situation where he was running out of ammunition and food.

Later, Yang Jingyu was chased and intercepted by the Japanese army. At this time, Cheng Bin relied on his familiarity with Yang Jingyu's life patterns and combat style to lead the Japanese army in pursuit of Yang Jingyu.

It can be seen that Cheng Bin, the traitor of the Northeast Anti-League, was the culprit who caused Yang Jingyu's sacrifice.

But what happened to Cheng Bin later was unexpected. Of course, the result was that he could not escape the people's sanctions.

When the Anti-Japanese War was about to win, Cheng Bin killed several Japanese soldiers, and then he actually joined the People's Liberation Army and became a commander. But Cheng Bin's result was really unexpected.

In 1951, Cheng Bin met a cadre on the street who had rebelled like him. What's even more interesting is that the two people not only knew each other, but also reported each other to their superiors. As you can imagine, Cheng Bin was found to have a history of rebelling against the enemy and betraying Yang Jingyu. In the end, he met the fate he deserved and was shot.

Zhang Xiufeng, he was Yang Jingyu’s security platoon leader. He was originally an orphan. After following Yang Jingyu, Yang Jingyu took great care of him. It would not be an exaggeration to say that he treated him as his own son. But even so, Zhang Xiufeng later betrayed his motherland, betrayed Yang Jingyu and surrendered to the Japanese army.

Yang Jingyu once regarded Zhang Xiufeng as his own son. However, on February 1, 1940, Zhang Xiufeng betrayed the country and surrendered to the enemy with more than 9,000 yuan in funds and confidential documents from the Northeastern Allied Forces.

It was because of Zhang Xiufeng's rebellion that the enemy learned of Yang Jingyu's whereabouts, so that the enemy pursued Yang Jingyu until Yang Jingyu died heroically.

As for Zhang Xiufeng's ending, the people are very controversial and angry. They are angry about why the traitor was not executed. Because in 1983, reporters also interviewed him.

Zhao Tingxi is also a traitor in the Northeast Anti-Resistance Alliance.

On February 22, 1940, Yang Jingyu, who had not eaten for many days, met Zhao Tingxi. Yang Jingyu wanted him to bring some food and cotton shoes. Zhao Tingxi persuaded Yang Jingyu to surrender, but Yang Jingyu firmly opposed it. Afterwards, Zhao Tingxi promised to find some food for Yang Jingyu.

But Zhao Tingxi turned around and told the Japanese army where Yang Jingyu was hiding.

After that, Zhao Tingxi led a large number of Japanese troops to surround Yang Jingyu, who was exhausted and exhausted. Due to Zhao Tingxi's rebellion, Yang Jingyu died heroically on February 23, 1940.

Zhao Tingxi rebelled, causing Yang Jingyu to die heroically, and he finally met the fate he deserved. In 1946, Zhao Tingxi was shot.

Zhang Xiruo was a machine gunner in Cheng Bin's army. He betrayed the country and surrendered to the enemy together with Cheng Bin.

During a hunt for Yang Jingyu, Zhang Xiruo, Bai Wanren, and Wang Zuohua were injured, and were later sent to Mengjiang County to recuperate.

On February 23, 1940, the Japanese army learned of Yang Jingyu's hiding place, gathered the wounded soldiers from Mengjiang County, and then took these wounded soldiers to surround Yang Jingyu, including Zhang Xiruo, Bai Wanren, and Wang Zuohua.

When the enemy surrounded Yang Jingyu and pressed forward step by step, after the Japanese army failed to recruit Yang Jingyu to surrender, the angry and ashamed Japanese army gave the order to shoot.

Zhang Xiruo was originally a machine gunner. When he received the order to fire from the Japanese army, he pulled the trigger. With a burst of gunfire, the bullet was fired at Yang Jingyu, and Yang Jingyu died heroically.

After Yang Jingyu died, the Japanese army decided to send Yang Jingyu’s head to Tonghua City for public display in order to deter the anti-Japanese armed forces in Northeast China. The traitors Zhang Xiruo, Wang Zuohua, and Bai Wanren were the ones who cut off Yang Jingyu's head with their own hands.

At that time, Zhang Xiruo and Wang Zuohua carried Yang Jingyu's body under the guillotine, and then Bai Wanren pressed the guillotine and chopped off Yang Jingyu's head.

However, although Zhang Xiruo betrayed the motherland and Yang Jingyu, Wang Xiruo later escaped due punishment due to some complicated historical reasons. By 1984, a reporter had interviewed him.

Yang Jingyu’s sacrifice is tragic. He sacrificed his life for China's revolutionary liberation cause and will always be remembered by the people.

Cheng Bin, Zhang Xiufeng, Zhao Tingxi, and Zhang Xiruo, who betrayed the country and surrendered to the enemy, betrayed the country, and betrayed Yang Jingyu, will forever be nailed to the pillar of shame as traitors.

Yang Jingyu led the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces in the bitter cold land of the Northeast, between the white mountains and black waters, and continued to fight the enemy despite the lack of supplies. His indomitable revolutionary spirit was like a lamp of light, guiding us in the direction of progress.

Yang Jingyu led the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces to fight bloody battles with the Japanese army in extremely difficult conditions, making great contributions to the national war of resistance. And he ate cotton wool and grass roots to satisfy his hunger and persisted until the last moment. His heroic spirit will forever set up an immortal monument in the hearts of Chinese people.
