According to the Russian Satellite News Agency, a terrorist attack occurred in the Shahri-Naou neighborhood in Kabul, Afghanistan on December 12. On the same day, unidentified militants broke into a hotel called "China Hotel", some of whom were wearing dead soldiers' vests and suddenly shot at hotel personnel. For a moment, gunfire and explosions broke out in the entire hotel, and a fire broke out in the hotel. When the incident occurred, the Chinese Embassy and the Taliban security forces immediately dispatched personnel to rescue the hostages in the hotel. A Chinese chef was injured and had been sent to the hospital for treatment. The gunfight has ended now.

According to the current news, this attack has three obvious characteristics: First, militants tried to surround the hotel, and they searched the 10-story hotel layer by layer, and it is not ruled out that this is done to kidnap more Chinese people.

Secondly, after the militants entered the hotel immediately, they had a fire with the security personnel stationed by the Taliban in the hotel, resulting in casualties in the latter. It can be seen that the Taliban attaches great importance to the personal safety of the Chinese.

Third, the gunfight and explosion sounds are very fierce, which seems to indicate that there are a large number of attackers. It is estimated that a large number of attackers have been shot dead.

To sum up, this should be a terrorist attack against the Chinese, so special attention is needed. Although militants in the Middle East have attacked the Chinese in fewer times in recent years, they are organized and premeditated and have a particularly purposeful attitude.

For example, on the evening of January 20, 2018, the Intercontinental Hotel in the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul, was attacked by multiple gunmen. Five civilians died, six were injured, and 126 civilians were hijacked. Later, they were rescued by Afghan security forces and were safe.

Secondly, these terrorists attacked the Chinese people with a simple purpose, not to ask for money, but to prevent China from investing in and building locally and causing China to suffer related losses. For example, in mid-July last year, a Chinese enterprise shuttle bus was attacked by a car bomb near the of the Dasu Hydropower Station, causing 9 deaths and 28 injuries to China. This is the most violent attack on the Chinese in the past five years, with the terrorist attack intended to undermine the China-Pakistan cooperation project.

As for why not send troops to protect our citizens or property, this is because according to the five principles, China cannot send troops to other countries to carry out military operations. In addition, our country is not a military alliance with any country, nor has the responsibility or obligation to help eliminate local militants.

In this case, Chinese people can only rely on foreign military to protect their foreign investment and business, so as long as the parties provide a sufficient sense of security, then China will increase investment in the parties.
