Recently, preferential treatment policies for retired military personnel have been implemented in many places across the country. According to relevant policies and regulations, retired military personnel holding retired military personnel preferential treatment certificate can enjoy preferential treatment in accordance with the policy regulations in areas where preferential treatment policies are implemented. Here are two pieces of information to draw attention to:

The first piece of information is the implementation of the preferential treatment policy for retired military personnel. Because there is currently no unified national policy, each region formulates relevant preferential treatment policies based on local conditions. The scope and content of preferential treatment in each region are roughly the same, but there are some differences. There are the following points that should be paid attention to:
First, the preferential treatment policies in some regions are only available to retired military personnel holding preferential treatment certificates in the region, and cannot be enjoyed by retired military personnel outside the region.

Second, preferential treatment policies in some regions are implemented for retired military personnel across the country, but regional preferential policies are not implemented throughout the country.
Third, the preferential treatment policies for veterans in some areas are different from those in other areas. Therefore, when comrades enjoy preferential treatment policies, they must take into account local differences and have a clear understanding of the scope and objects of preferential treatment policies enjoyed by the region to avoid being pretentious and causing unnecessary embarrassment.

For example, the Dazhou area of Sichuan provides free travel preferential policies to retired military personnel nationwide who hold veterans' preferential treatment certificates, but there may be no corresponding preferential policies in another region.
The second aspect of information is based on what we have learned so far. When most areas implement preferential treatment policies for veterans, they require a veteran’s preferential treatment certificate. Some comrades are asking, can I enjoy preferential treatment if I hold a discharge certificate, or other discharge certificate? This specifically depends on the local situation and the working methods of the staff. Some places may allow it, while others may not.

I personally think that if you have a veteran’s preferential treatment card, you should enjoy these preferential treatment policies. You might as well take it with you, it's not too much trouble. As for those who have not yet applied for the preferential treatment certificate for retired military personnel for some reason, they should seize the time to apply for it.
