We must summarize the gains and losses of the year and make preparations for the start of next year's training. This year may be the year with the most drastic changes in recent years. However, compared to how many new warships have been launched or served in this year, the Air Force has joined the list of advanced fighter jets. The Army's biggest highlight this year is not the equipment replacement, but a new round of adjustments has been brought in in the organization. As we all know, after the last round of military reform, our army formed a basic configuration of field forces in five major war zones and two major military regions. Among them, there are 13 group armies in the five major war zones, each group army has 6 synthetic brigades, a total of 78 brigades, and the two military regions in Xinjiang and Tibet have 1 mechanical infantry division, 3 motorcycle infantry division, and three synthetic brigades. But this configuration has not been stable for two years. Since the beginning of this year, there have been many news from our military newspapers and open source channels that prove that the Army has begun a new round of organizational adjustments. The first thing I noticed was the Xiongguan Iron Cavalry of the 76th Army in the Western Theater Command. As one of the three main heavy synthetic brigades of the 76th Army, the brigade has basically disappeared from public reports since the second half of last year. At the beginning of this year, many commanders and soldiers of the brigade began to appear in the propaganda of the Rocket Force related to the great east wind. Various signs indicate that the brigade has been transferred to the Rocket Force after the split, replenishing new blood for the Rocket Force, which has rapidly expanded in recent years.
The Rocket Force has expanded hundreds of wind power wells in recent years, installed a series of new equipment and undertakes a series of new tasks. It is indeed a special shortage of personnel. It is normal for the army big brothers who seem to be redundant to go. But it was not only the Rocket Force that was short of people. After Marines turned to full-domain delivery and moved towards expedition, the scale of the original six combat brigades and one special combat brigade was also not enough.
Just in the second half of this year, someone discovered that a heavy brigade of the Central Theater Command 82nd Army and a top-mounted medium brigade of the Northern Theater Command 79th Army had become a Marine Corps, which also means that the Marine Corps had once again expanded after taking over some units from the Army in 2017, and the number of Army synthetic brigades has also been reduced from 82 to 79. It should be said that compared with the relatively stable navy and air force, the Army has been much more active in adjusting the organization and scale of tactical corps. In addition to the changes in the number of synthetic brigades, the special combat brigades of various army groups in the Army have also begun new adjustments this year. This reduction in scale is also a win-win situation for the Army. The big brother of the Army has a large business and a large budget. If the personnel and equipment are more equipped, the speed of changing equipment will be slow. For example, you can see that the heirloom 59 medium tank is still in our army and has not been completely replaced. If some troops are handed over, on the one hand, old equipment can be directly eliminated, and newer equipment can also be used by troops that need to be replaced, reducing the pressure of changing gears; on the other hand, the money saved to support the troops can also be replaced faster for other troops. As for the Rocket Force and the Marine Corps, if they lack people or advanced equipment, they will naturally hit it off.
For the Army, this year's replacement was also a milestone year. As the top main force of the 79th Army took over the 96 basic main battle tanks that I don't know how many moves were installed at the beginning of the year, the Type 59 medium tank officially withdrew from the sequence of all the heavy synthetic brigades of our army. Our army also completely bid farewell to ancient tanks that do not have laser rangefinder and fire control computers and lack night combat capabilities. Of course, the service process of the 59 family in our army has not yet ended. The army still has several medium-sized synthetic brigades. Because the large eight-wheeler tribe has not yet been in place, they are still using the 59D tank for top-mounting.
After the Iron and Pioneer Brigade was transferred to the Marine Corps, there were still five top-mounted medium-sized brigades in our army, four of which were 59D. In fact, there were still five pairs of heavy-bearing pairs in their early 200s to serve until the end of this year. Their dressing has to wait for a while. Since the second generation of medium-sized wheeled platforms have reached the final stage of finalization testing, the 08 car owner no longer arranges the dressing production task but waits for the arrival of new cars and new platforms. Therefore, it will take about two or three years for the 59 family to completely withdraw from the active service sequence of our army.
Of course, in addition to these changes in traditional directions, the construction of the Army's new combat effectiveness this year is also not neglected: the number of armed helicopters has been confirmed by public photos to expand the number of armed helicopters, and the scale of the assault transport helicopter battalion has also expanded. This shows that the scale of the helicopters of our army has grown rapidly after the aviation industry production capacity has increased.
