The naming of various military regions in my country is very interesting. Except for a few military regions, most military regions are named after the cities where the military region is located, such as the Shenyang Military Region, Jinan Military Region, Kunming Military Region, etc. Among all military regions, the situation in Jinan Military Region is very special. The Jinan Military Region only manages the armed forces stationed in Shandong Province, and the scope of management is not large. The Jinan Military Region has two main tasks. First, strengthen the defense force on the coastal front line, beware of the opponent's targets taking advantage of the navy and air force advantages, and conduct amphibious landings on Jiaodong Peninsula .
Secondly, it is one of the strategic reserves of the entire army and undertakes mobile support tasks. Although the management scope of the Jinan Military Region is not large, several elite troops are stationed, all of which are powerful brigades of war. Unlike the Jinan Military Region, the Shenyang Military Region assumes the important task of protecting the Northeast. The Shenyang Military Region is responsible for managing the armed forces of Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning, and its geographical location is very important. Among the 13 military regions in the 1950s and 1960s, the Shenyang Military Region had the largest number of troops stationed, and they were basically all ace troops.
For example, the famous 38th Army and 39th Army were once affiliated to the Shenyang Military Region. The Shenyang Military Region needs to take into account tasks in several directions at the same time.
