CNN (CNN) quoted a U.S. official on the 28th that a U.S. F-15 fighter jet was launched on Wednesday and shot down an Iranian drone that seemed to be flying towards the U.S. troops stationed in Erbil, Iraq.

reported that two other U.S. officials said that the U.S. military took off the fighter jet after tracking dozens of short-range ballistic missiles flew to in northern Iraq on Wednesday. The officials said the preliminary assessment that the missile was launched from Iran.
One of the officials said, "This is a major event." U.S. Central Command issued a statement saying, "At around 2:10 pm local time (28th), the US military shot down an Iranian Mojer-6 drone flying towards the direction of (the capital of the Kurdish Autonomous Region of Iraq) Erbil because it seems to pose a threat to the U.S. Central Command forces in the region."

Iran Tasnim News Agency quoted the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps used missiles and drones to attack Kurdish armed targets identified by Iran as a terrorist organization.
According to the Islamic Republic of Iran, an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps introduced the details of the attack on the 28th.
