Now, the US Embassy in China further notified: From next Monday, December 19, all immigration interviews will be suspended, except for emergency situations.

Applicants affected by this round of visa appointment interview cancellation plan should have received email notifications one after another. Now, seeing the multi-category visa proof that the interview time in January of 2018 is open to accept the appointment. Applicants who have been cancelled can arrange a re-appointment immediately.
visa fee is valid within 12 months from the date of payment. Everyone must reschedule a new appointment within the validity period to avoid paying the visa fee again.
The only way to apply for a visa is to try the Embassy’s “Extended Interview Expedited Appointment” service. If the application is deemed to have some unforeseeable visit needs, the embassy and consulate will agree to conduct an expedited interview depending on the circumstances.
Generally common urgent interview situations include:
- Emergency medical needs, family members or employers can also apply;
- immediate family members die in the United States, go to the United States to attend a funeral or transport their bodies back to China;
- emergency business trip, if you do not conduct this trip, it will cause significant economic losses to your company;
- Students or exchange visiting scholars will start school within 60 days, etc.
Travel purposes that do not meet the expedited application conditions include:
attending weddings, graduation ceremonies, caring for pregnant relatives, attending meetings, traveling, etc.
