Liu Xiao was born in Dapu, Meizhou, Guangdong Province in 1962. He studied hard since childhood and later passed the entrance examination for a secondary school in Guangzhou.

After a long investigation, Liu Xiao and his wife chose to open a store on Hongli Road, Futian District, Shenzhen. At that time, there was not even Huaqiangbei. The center of the entire Shenzhen was Luohu , which was right at the east gate. After renting the store in
, Liu Xiao and his wife started from scratch with little money. They did not hire a decoration team, but they all did the decoration themselves.
He has no template to copy, so he took a ruler to measure someone else's counter and then made one by himself. When I was busy, I didn’t even have to eat food, so I just ate a bun.

The first doctoral glasses store
The reason why he named it "Doctor's Glasses" was mainly inspired by the name of the "University Shoe Store" he often went to in Guangzhou. He was originally going to copy it and named it "University Glasses".
However, Liu Xiao thought again, "university glasses" cannot yet include his positioning of the glasses store. It requires more professional and higher-level employees and products need to be sold to more knowledgeable people. So he determined the store name as "Doctoral Glasses".
"Doctor's Glasses" began to gradually get on track with the careful management of Liu Xiao and his wife. In June 1996, the doctor entered the Nanchang market and won the title of "first-class glasses store" in Jiangxi Province. Today, the Nanchang market has formed an independent sales area. In October 1998, the doctor entered the Dongguan market, and then formed a sales zone covering Dongguan and surrounding areas. After making money, in order to facilitate business, Liu Xiao first obtained the permanent residence rights of Australian , and then, the whole family obtained Australian nationality and immigrated to Australia.
On April 1, 2006, Liu Xiao also welcomed Prime Minister Wen Jiabao to visit Australia at the airport as a representative of Australian Chinese.
