Recently, two Saint Lucia representatives participated in an important meeting on the implementation of the passport system in Saint Lucia.
The two officers, Mr Lucius Lake of the Saint Lucia Border Control Service and Inspector Crescent Lionel of the Immigration Service Passport Office of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, during the week of June 20, 2022 Participated in Customer Acceptance Testing (CAT).
In 2021, the Government of Saint Lucia and Canadian Bank Notes Limited (CBN) signed an agreement to provide ePassport and ePassport issuance and control system solutions.
Mr. Lucius Lake, Immigration Expert at the Saint Lucia Border Control Service, commented on the important role of the CBN in the implementation of e-passports, which will replace existing machine-readable passports.
He said the upcoming system was designed and implemented starting in 2007 and now provides the basis for a seamless security upgrade to the ePassport system.
has begun distribution for ePassports' Caribbean countries including Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas , Barbados , Belize , Dominica , Grenada and St. Kitts and Nevis. Jamaica plans to launch its electronic passport system in 2023.
