With the increasing awareness of environmental protection, more and more Germans have abandoned disposable coffee cups and brought bamboo coffee cups when buying coffee, hoping to contribute to the environmental protection of the earth. In their eyes, these bamboo coffee cups are easy to use and environmentally friendly, but they do not know that these cups are made of melamine formaldehyde resin material, drinking hot coffee is almost equivalent to drinking poison.

According to the European Times German edition report, the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) pointed out in a latest report: Bamboo tableware is not suitable for holding hot food and hot drinks. The harmful substances in this kind of bamboo materials will be transferred to the food at a certain temperature, posing a hazard to human health. At present, the so-called bamboo tableware on the market in Germany is actually made of melamine formaldehyde resin material with bamboo fiber as a filling material. Strictly speaking, the "bamboo" coffee cup is just a plastic product, not an environmentally friendly bamboo product that consumers think. After evaluating more than 300 kinds of bamboo tableware on the market, the researchers found that the harmful substances in some bamboo coffee cups exceeded the prescribed standard value (for adults) by 30 times, and exceeded the prescribed standard value for children's tableware products by 120 times.
It is reported that because the melamine formaldehyde resin material has the characteristics of light weight and not easy to break, it is widely used in reusable cups and tableware. However, harmful substances in this material can enter food at higher temperatures. Formaldehyde can cause harm to the eyes, skin and respiratory system, and even risk cancer. Andreas Hensel, chairman of the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment, warned consumers that in addition to avoiding using such bamboo coffee cups to hold hot tea and coffee, such tableware should not be used to hold food in a microwave oven. "For this kind of bamboo tableware, it is only suitable for cold food." Andreas Hensel said, in addition to the hidden health and safety hazards, the selling point of bamboo coffee cups has always been "environmental protection". Merchants claim that bamboo coffee cups are made from renewable raw materials. Biodegradable, "but in fact, melamine formaldehyde resin is not a biodegradable material."
Stiftung Warentest, the German Commodity Inspection Foundation, has also issued a warning to consumers asking people to abandon bamboo coffee cups. Related researchers found in quality inspection experiments that when the temperature of the liquid in the cup is higher than 70°C, 7 of the 12 cups release harmful substances.
In addition, although the labels of many bamboo cups indicate "biodegradable", the bamboo fiber cannot be recycled separately after being mixed with the melamine formaldehyde resin, so such tableware cannot be recycled.

If bamboo coffee cups are an "environmental scam", then the familiar bottled water is "the biggest health scam in a century." At that time, the US environmental organization Orb Media tested the composition of 250 different brands of bottled water in 9 countries in North America, Asia, Europe and Africa and found that 93% of bottled water contained plastic debris.
According to the Canadian Weekend report, the survey results show that each liter of bottled water contains an average of 10 plastic particles larger than 100 microns, and more plastic particles with a diameter of less than 100 microns are detected. The content per liter is as high as 314, which is higher than that in tap water. The content of microplastics is exactly twice as high. The
researchers said they found plastic particles in many bottled water brands. The phthalates contained in these particles can cause obesity, diabetes, and even cancer. To make matters worse, the human body cannot excrete the plastic particles in bottled water, and once ingested, they will remain in the body for life.
In fact, as early as 2016, Russian experts conducted an experiment to verify whether plastic containers for drinking water would cause adverse effects on the human body. They recruited 1,500 volunteers to follow up on their physical health. After these volunteers drank plastic bottled water for a period of time, experts found the toxic substance bisphenol A in the urine of 95% of the volunteers. Then people who found the toxin BPA in their urine stopped drinking bottled water for 4 days, and the test found that the amount of toxin in the urine was reduced by two times.
Later, researchers at the University of New South Wales also commented on several models on the Australian marketAfter testing the bottled water, it was also found to contain residues of harmful plastics such as polypropylene, nylon and polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The result of
is obvious. I thought it was healthier to drink bottled water, but I didn't expect to drink it as a "killer" instead of being healthy.
