Since the task of sewage discharge outlet rectification has been assigned, Laohekou City has attached great importance to it and quickly completed the preparation of the "one-double, one-point" rectification plan. The main leaders of the city supervised it on the spot, and all functional departments have conscientiously performed their duties and jointly promoted the rectification work.

Laohekou Daming Canal was built in 1998. It is the main channel for urban flooding and drainage in Laohekou City. It is 10.4 kilometers south from Wenchang Road and then merges into Hanjiang . Before 2020, the canal is connected to the Longhugou Valley and the moat at the end and end of the urban inland canal. The rain and sewage in the urban area is collected through the two canal systems and finally transported into the Daming Canal and entered the sewage treatment plant for treatment and then discharged into the Han River.

In this regard, Laohekou City attached great importance to this and quickly established the Daming Canal rectification and attack command center with the secretary and mayor as the commander-in-chief. It adheres to problem-oriented approach, integrates departmental resources, adopts methods of operation with maps, and implements path-based implementation, strengthens supervision and time-limited processing, and uses Daming Canal renovation as the "touchstone" to test the work style of cadres, and uses hard measures to promote the water of the canal to become clear and the ecology becomes beautiful. Next step, Laohekou City will further improve the normalized management mechanism, clarify departmental responsibilities, strengthen daily inspection and maintenance, consolidate the results of rectification, solidly promote the tracing and rectification work of sewage outlets entering the river, effectively build a solid ecological barrier in the old river estuary section of the Hanjiang River, and protect the clear water of a river.
