According to the planning permission of the Dublin City Council, " festival celebration will be held on December 31, 2022. The format of the event has changed slightly compared with previous years. There is no New Year's Eve concert, and the focus will be on the midnight countdown and fireworks performances on the Liffe River."

First, from 4 pm to 7 pm, in the North The Pier and South Pier will set up a festival venue, including numerous live music, food and bar centers; then a 30-minute preview will begin at 6:30 pm, a colorful event will feature the highlights of "Midnight Moment", as well as performances by family and street artists, with viewing locations at North Wall Pier, which can accommodate 24,000 people; New Year's events along North Wall Pier and Sir John Rogerson Pier will last from 8 pm to 40 minutes after midnight, with Sir John Rogerson Pier, which can accommodate up to 14,000 people.

Midnight fireworks show will be located on the pontoon bridge of the Liffe River , from Samuel Beckett Bridge to Tom Clark Bridge. In addition, there is a barge on the east side of the Tom Clark Bridge, launching fireworks into the air.
