The firefighting unit performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the scene at 1 a.m. the next day, and was urgently transferred to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
At nearly 2 a.m. local time on the 30th, the fire department announced the number of casualties and injuries of 120 deaths and 100 injuries.
Fire fighting unit pointed out that as of 1 a.m. on the 30th, a total of 21 patients with cardiac arrest have been transferred to the emergency room of nearby hospitals, most of which are young women in their 20s, including a 10-year-old girl. They were successively transferred to Shuntian Township University Hospital, National Medical Center, Ewha Women's University Mudong Hospital, Gangbek Samsung Hospital, Seoul Notre Dame Hospital, Chungjiang University Hospital, Seoul National University Hospital and Yeouido Notre Dame Hospital for emergency treatment.
The disaster relief medical support teams of Seoul National University Hospital, Gangdong Kyung Hee University Hospital and Hanyang University Hospital also rushed to the scene to rescue the injured. At present, the firefighting unit has also set up a temporary emergency center on Hanjiang Road near Itaewon Station to treat the injured.
South Korean President Yoon Seo-yeol has issued an emergency order. After receiving the report, Seoul Mayor Wu Sehun urgently interrupted his visit to Europe and rushed back to South Korea.
