Han Zheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the opening meeting, delivered a keynote speech, announced the opening and inspected the exhibition hall. Seven ASEAN heads of state or government and three senior foreign ministers delivered video speeches at the opening meeting. More than 180 ministerial VIPs from China and ASEAN countries attended the grand event online and offline and held high-level consultations and exchanges.
South Korea highly praised China-ASEAN friendly cooperation in its keynote speech, and proposed the "5-point initiative" to further strengthen strategic docking, vigorously improve the level of economic and trade cooperation, solidly promote infrastructure connectivity, focus on expanding green development cooperation, and continuously promote people-to-people communication and mutual understanding. Leaders and ministers of ASEAN countries have also contributed their insights on deepening cooperation. Diplomatic envoys from 10 ASEAN countries and 18 countries including Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, the United States attended the grand event. The "Two Bays" linkage industrial cooperation docking meeting was held for the first time, and high-end new metal materials, machinery and equipment manufacturing, light industry and textiles and other industrial projects were signed. The Guangxi-Guangdong-Guangdong National Airside Economic Demonstration Zone signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The Guangxi (Nanning)-Jiangsu (Suzhou) Key Industrial Project Negotiation Conference promoted strategic cooperation between the two provinces and regions.
