British manufacturer Dyson , Japanese automaker Mazda and many other well-known companies have recently expressed their statement that children's pornography often appears next to the advertisements placed on Twitter , thinking that it is harmful to the brand image, so they decided to remove the advertisement and suspend all marketing activities on the platform.
According to Reuters , many well-known brands will choose to place advertisements on Twitter, but the security group "Ghost Data" found that more than 30 corporate organizations have content related to child pornography next to advertisements. The "victimized" corporate organizations include Disney , National Broadcasting Global Group (NBC Universal), Coca-Cola , and even a children's hospital in Texas.
The American footwear brand "Cole Haan" also encountered the same situation, with its promotional advertisement juxtaposed with a tweet claiming that it was conducting "trading less children", which included keywords such as "raping" and "teenagers". The report pointed out that a Twitter user searched for the keyword "Limited to young girls, no boys", and the Scottish Chapel Children's Hospital advertisement in Texas would appear.
Khan President David Maddocks said: "We are frightened. If Twitter doesn't find a way to solve it, we will solve it in various ways, including not placing advertisements on Twitter."
In response, Twitter spokesman Celeste Carswell said in a statement that he is currently in close contact, investigating and taking action with advertisers and partners on this issue. She stressed that Twitter "does not allow children's sexual exploitation" and promised to invest more resources to ensure children's safety and avoid similar situations from happening again.
