On September 6, film producer Emerson Collins posted a video on his social media, recording the strange sounds he was on the broadcast system on the flight from Los Angeles to Dallas : uninterrupted moans and grunts. In the video, Collins hinted that someone might have invaded the broadcast system, and a flight attendant apologized to the passengers for this abnormal sound.

flight attendant said: "We know this is a very strange abnormality, so we thank you very much for your attention until we figure out how to close it."

Another netizen also said that he and his wife encountered a similar phenomenon on American Airlines flight in July. "To be clear, this (voice) sounds like a person groaning in extreme pain. The staff said this phenomenon has happened before and has no explanation."

Now American Airlines said it has investigated the incident and said that it will not be hacked because the plane's passenger broadcast system is not connected to the Internet. They believe that the appearance of this sound may be due to a hardware failure.

Airlines said in a statement: "After receiving the preliminary report, our maintenance team thoroughly inspected the aircraft and passenger broadcast systems and determined that these sounds were caused by mechanical problems in the passenger broadcast system amplifier, which will increase the noise volume of the passenger broadcast system when the engine is running."
