At present, the Chinese government has begun to relax international travel measures, which is a good sign for the recovery of the tourism industry. Previously, Chinese tourists were the main income-generating group of Thai tourism. It is believed that the Chinese authorities will gradually begin to open more international travel in the future.
Ms. Theresuri said that the Prime Minister has ordered the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to prepare measures to promote Thailand tourism in the second half of the year. It is expected that after the Thai pass system for foreign tourists is canceled and entry measures are relaxed on July 1, the number of tourists will increase significantly. Therefore, it is necessary to increase foreign tourists’ awareness of Thailand and develop more measures to encourage tourism.
Ms. Theresuri also added that although the current new crown infection situation in Thailand has greatly improved, the government still requires the public to cooperate with each other in epidemic prevention for the safety of themselves and others, rebuild the confidence of tourists in Thailand, and allow them to enjoy good services. At the same time, they will not be troubled by the epidemic.
