In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech and instructions during his inspection of Jilin, the scientific research team of the School of Bioengineering of Jilin Vocational College has kept in mind General Secretary Xi Jinping’s expectation of “writing the paper on the land of the motherland”, taking it as its mission to strengthen agriculture and promote agriculture, and carried out research on the scientific research project of morel cultivation based on the school’s industry, academia and research training base, Sunlight Greenhouse.
In August 2021, the morel cultivation research team led by Zhang Chunji and Liu Dan started the implementation of the morel cultivation project. The team has gone through a series of work such as land preparation, rotary tillage, soil drying, disinfection, bacterial seed planting, irrigation, film coating, cultivation management, etc.
In December 2021, the "Preferential bacterial species of morels under the pear tree model and the optimization of straw cover alternative nutritional bag cultivation technology" hosted by Mr. Zhang Chunji was approved as an industrialization project of the Jilin Provincial Department of Education. The successful establishment of this project achieved a new breakthrough in the school's provincial industrialization project.
In January 2022, the first phase of morel cultivation trial entered a critical stage. Teachers Zhang Chunji and Liu Dan were stationed at the test base every day for data collection, analysis and standardized shed management, and regulated and recorded temperature, light and other parameters at any time based on the experimental analysis results. Since humidity cannot be automated, the two teachers carry 50 kilogram spray kettles for manual humidification every day, even on holidays.
After four months of hard work and careful management, we finally ushered in the first phase of morel cultivation trial, which fully reflects the scientific research level and scientific research capabilities of the morel cultivation scientific research team. The success of this experiment not only filled the gap in edible fungi cultivation in schools, but also laid a good foundation for the industrial promotion of morel cultivation.
