(Observer Network) On December 12, the Faxintan Temple in Wufu Palace, Puli Town, Nantou County, Taiwan held a temple fair around the world. From nightfall, it set off fireworks in and until 2 a.m. on the 13th. Not only does the noise disturb people and pollute the air, but also caused disorderly behaviors such as littering along the way, spitting betel nut juice residue, and urinating everywhere, directly igniting public grievances.
According to Taiwan United Daily News and China Times Electronic News on the 14th, the surrounding area activity has continued since late at night on the 12th until the early morning of the 13th. The "Million Fireworks Show" that lasted for 3 minutes in the early morning made local residents collapse. The Puli Police Station received calls from the police station. . What makes people even more disappointing is that early in the morning on the 13th, people found all kinds of garbage on the street. The roads along Xinyi Road next to the main hall of the event were filled with gold paper, cannon boxes, betel nut slag, etc., and a small garbage mountain appeared next to Ren'ai Park. Some residents criticized "Puli turned into a garbage city early in the morning", and some people posted surveillance videos accusing someone of urinating at their doorsteps, and people who were circumventing the road to use the store's fan without authorization. In the neighborhood near Hongren Guozhong, Puli, thousands of power outages occurred during the border activities. People once questioned that the fireworks were burning out the power lines and caused the disaster.
In response to this, the Wufu Palace Dharma Xintan apologized to the public on the 13th and said that it would review and improve. Puli Town Mayor Liao Zhicheng said that the surrounding area seriously interfered with the lives of the townspeople and immediately informed the organizer to make immediate improvements. The temple's various disputed behaviors such as fireworks, drowning in the area, etc. have been submitted to the competent authority for approval and punishment.
Subsequently, the cleaning team of Puli Town Government took the lead in issuing a fine of NT$6,000 (about RMB 1,395) in accordance with the law. The Nantou County Fire Department, Police Bureau and Environmental Protection Bureau also issued fines in accordance with the "Firecrackers and Fireworks Control Regulations", "Violations of Noise Control Law", and "Social Order Maintenance Law" and other regulations on the 14th. At the same time, a review meeting was held in Puli on the same day.
Fire Department pointed out that there has been an application for the deployment of fireworks around the country. After review and on-site investigation, both comply with the provisions of the law. However, the allowable deployment time is only 10:00 pm on the 12th, while the organizer will continue until the early morning of the 13th. Therefore, according to the "Firecrackers and Fireworks Control Regulations", the violation punishment letter of NT$30,000 to NT$150,000 (about NT$6,975 to NT$34,875) was issued.
