As a senior journalist in Taiwan, I have always had a "opposition" understanding of Taiwanese society: on the one hand, Taiwan's politics is very, very hot, and it is either elections, political comments, or parades or rallies all day long; but on the other hand, ordinary people in Taiwan, especially young people, are increasingly unwilling to care about politics, and most of them suffer from "political cold syndrome".
