Phil Foden renewed his contract with Manchester City , and he will play for Etihad until 2027.
The 22-year-old’s previous contract will expire in 2024, but after last year’s negotiations, he signed a new contract for an additional three years.
After graduating from Manchester City Youth Training Academy, Foden has become an indispensable member of Guardiola's team. Although he is young, he has won four Premier League championship trophys.
The England international has been named the Professional Football Association's Young Player of the Year for the past two seasons and is now considered one of the highest-paid young players in European football.
"My happiness is hard to express in words to be signed. This is a dream come true," Foden said.
"I've been a Manchester City fan all my life. I've been here for so many years and I've even been an caddy . I love this club so much, so it feels great to know that I'm going to be a part of it until 2027.
"I've improved a lot in recent years, thanks in large part to Pep and his staff who coach me on the training ground every day."
"Working with them gives me the best chance to improve myself and become the best player.
"With our current roster, I feel I can continue to learn and win trophys. These are the two most important things for me.
"I want to thank everyone in Manchester City because without them I wouldn't have been what I am today. All the youth coaches I have worked with, all the players I have worked with and all the people who work behind the scenes. It's a pleasure to be a member of this football club."
Manchester City football director Txiki Begiristain said: "We are all proud of Phil and what he has achieved, but we know there is more to go.
"His talent and ability is obvious, but his hard work, professionalism and dedication make him really special." His love for football exceeded everything, and his desire to improve was truly incredible. ”
