We got the answer - Israel
Israel, this country announced in 1948, is still very young. But in the torrent of history, it has been linked to civilized beliefs and has been dyed with a solemn color. In December 2018, we started an 8-day and 7-night trip to Israel. Let us set off together with curiosity.
DAY 1 The ancient city of Jaffa
We flew directly from Beijing to Israel's second largest city "Tel Aviv". It takes about 10 hours to fly directly from Beijing. The time difference in Israel is China's time-6 hours. As soon as we set foot on Israel's land, we have a small joy that earned 6 hours in vain.
Israel's currency is [ New Shekel ]. So far, it is impossible to exchange directly in China. It is recommended that you exchange US dollars before traveling, and after arriving in Israel, then exchange it at the airport or surrounding cities. The exchange rate of USD → New Shekel is suitable for 3.5 or above~
Because most cities in Israel are coastal, after a short rest in the hotel, we went to the beach, stroll on the beach, looking at the Israeli words on the signs, and in the blue sea and blue sky, we are looking forward to a day's itinerary.
Tel Aviv full name "Tel Aviv-Jaffa" , which is a merger of two adjacent cities, Tel Aviv and Jaffa. On the afternoon of the first day we arrived in Israel, we arrived at the ancient city of Jaffa in Tel Aviv. This was once an important port on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean, but now it has become a famous art district, with many artists holding studios here and many creative shops.
The landmark here - the faith gate, displays the story of the faith gate in the Old Testament. I was wearing Hanfu and walked in this 4,000-year-old ancient city, listening to the legend of faith and watching the beautiful night. Every breeze, every street corner, a little cat I met by chance tells the beauty of this ancient city in a peaceful and comfortable manner.
DAY 2 Tel Aviv Old Town + Caesarea + Haifa
Early the next morning, we visited the old town of Tel Aviv together. This city is also called "White City". Here you can see white buildings with "horizontal lines and curved corners" everywhere. This is the famous " Bauhaus "-style building. The Bauhaus design concept originated from the "public Bauhaus School" in Weimar, Germany.
In the 1930s, many designers moved to Israeli areas where the country was not established at that time, and brought this simple and clear modernist style to Tel Aviv, where more than 4,000 Bauhaus buildings were built, ranking first in the world, and it is also the reason why Tel Aviv will be called White City.
Walking on the streets of the old city, the unexpected slope, the fresh blue doors and the pedestrians riding bicycles always surprise us. In addition to creative product stores, art exhibitions, clothing stores, coffee shops, etc., you will also see many cute wall paintings on the street. These are the "surprises of life" spontaneously drawn by locals
Leaving Tel Aviv, we set out to Caesarea, which is 50 kilometers away from Tel Aviv and was once the largest port in Israel in the Mediterranean. It was built in 63 BC and combines the architectural style of Roman and Greece. What we see now is the theater ruins here. In addition, there are ancient piers, crusad castles, temple ruins, public baths, breakwaters, racecourses, Roman-style elevated aerial canals, ancient city walls, etc. built by Herod. ~
What you see now is this former structural diagram. Today, the city was flooded by the waves of the Mediterranean, but through the ruins in front of us, we can still vaguely see the glory here.
Leaving Caesarea, we head to Haifa, the end of today. This is the third largest city in Israel with its name and the largest port city in Israel. As soon as we get here, we see a very "small and fresh" view. On the slopes of Carmel, we can see the entire Haifa at the foot of the mountain and the endless Mediterranean Sea. There is also the Baha'i Garden, known as the sky garden,
On the evening, we visited the local market together. Although Christmas is still 4 days away, the celebration atmosphere here is already very strong. When the lights at night, we saw the Baha'i Garden in the night and the iconic Hanukkah 9 candlesticks of Jewish .
In this night, we met Santa Claus, passionate parrots, flashing Christmas lights, and many more beauty. Quickly click the video, let me take you to see it on the spot↓
Day3 Israel Blue Hole + Kibutz
The third day trip was full of expectations, because the tour guide told us that we would take us to find the beautiful "blue eyes" in the Mediterranean, and the most "local" village in Israel,
We came to the Israel Blue Hole together in the morning. Here, the Mediterranean waves constantly slap on the rocks on both sides, and under the erosion of the sea water, a magical sponge-like tunnel is formed. Walking along the tunnel, you will see many beautiful blue holes like this.
We took the cable car and the plank road to come here, listening to the sound of the sea and watching the bright blue sky. Occasionally, cyclists and jogging people broke into the camera, making it a beautiful scenery. Here we look at Lebanon from afar and meet the handsome soldier who is guarding the border. In Israel, both men and women need to serve in the military, for boys and 2 years for girls. Visually measured that this soldier is at least 190. I think I seem to be several shorter than him. Hahaha~
Leaving the Blue Hole, we came to Kibbutz in Galilee District, where we visited the winery and farm. Because this is a shared community, everyone works together and enjoys the fruits of labor, we also have delicious "big pot rice" here.
In the afternoon, we came to bring the nearby leisure open-air bar. There were a few friends here, sitting around in the sun, drinking wine, eating dried fruits, chatting about homework. Not far away, someone was having a picnic and someone was driving a kart~
Afterwards, we went to Meiliya village. Listening to the development of this ancient village, we met a church wedding and enjoyed a sumptuous dinner here (the kind of private dishes)
Day4 The Christmas atmosphere is getting stronger and stronger. On the fourth day of the trip, we came to the ancient city of Aka. This city located on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean has a history of more than 5,000 years. As the capital of the Crusader Kingdom, the old churches, houses, bell towers and stone carvings can be vaguely seen here. The past history is recorded on the stone carvings
However, today is different from the past. Walking here, you can see pedestrians who are sightseeing or worshiping, bathing in the afternoon sun of the ancient city, occasionally pedestrians enter the country. What I like most is this picture of a family of three. The warmth and beauty in plain life adds vitality to the ancient timelessness of the ancient city
Here we listened to a concert of the female trio of "The Hazelnuts ensemble". The three sisters are medium, high and low. At the end, we sang "just Like Jesus walk in Jerusalem" with them.
PS: Because Christmas is approaching, I wear a red Hanfu cloak. Along the way, many people asked me to take photos and friendly talk to me about merry Christmas. They are all praising our clothes for good looks. I am also proud to tell them: This is our traditional Chinese clothing
Leaving the ancient city of Aka, we went to the Nazareth area. According to legend, after Jesus was born, he grew up here
DAY5 Dead Sea
The 5th day trip to the Dead Sea can really be said to be the "Life Year" series. Before coming to Israel, I never thought that one day I could float on the Dead Sea like in textbooks.
Dead Sea is the lowest lake in the world. It is also the third largest water body in the world with salt content. The lake water is dark blue, and very calm and salt-rich water prevents people from sinking. Every day, there are always a constant stream of tourists coming to the Dead Sea to experience floating. Although it is called "Dead Sea", it looks like a small and fresh blue. I also caught a camel looking at the Dead Sea from afar. It was so comfortable~
We brought magazines and Christmas hats with great scheming, and finally floated like a "textbook". Here are some tips for floating in the Dead Sea:
1. Floating method: Don’t rush to float. You should slowly immerse yourself in the water and gradually tilt your back until you are in a flat state.
2. The water in the Dead Sea has very high salt content. Once it enters the eyes, it will definitely not be opened. Be careful when floating! Carry mineral water and place it on the shore for easy rinsing. (PS: There are also places to rinse in the Dead Sea, but it is far away)
3. Dead Sea mud is rich in minerals, which can regulate the acid and alkali balance of the skin and has the effect of maintaining skin cell tissues. Don’t miss it when you encounter it. Just like us, please apply it on your body with confidence and boldness~
4. If you want to install it, don’t bring the newspaper. The first time floats, it may not be successful. The newspaper is easy to wet, but the magazine can be thick enough. If it is wet, it can't be seen even if it is wet.
Day6 Bethlehem +The Old City of Jerusalem
0 All the way, we finally waited for Christmas Eve. On this day, we took a bus to Bethlehem - the birthplace of Jesus. There are grand Christmas parades here every year. In the parade, most of the local teachers and students were wearing uniform clothes, lined up neatly, and performed musical instruments to celebrate the arrival of this day.
Whether it is the Israelites I usually meet or the people I meet in Bethlehem today, facing my camera, they are extremely friendly, so on this day, I took a picture of smiling faces, sincere and sincere.
Bethlehem's Church is the place where Jesus was born. There are many stories circulating here. On December 24th, people arrived with beauty and sincerity. We watched the crowd who came to the manger to pilgrimage and also left our own stories and prayers here.
After leaving Bethlehem, we returned to the old city of Jerusalem and began a city adventure on Christmas Eve. Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and a famous religious holy land. It is called the "holy city"
The old city is divided into four major areas: Muslim area, Christian area, Jewish area , Armenian area, At the same time, there are three major religions in the world: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. They live together in an extremely integrated manner. When night falls in Jerusalem, the four religious areas in the old city, although the gates are closed, the signs of schools, shops, churches and residents can be vaguely seen. Walking in the night, what you see is the respect and acceptance of different beliefs~
Coming here on Christmas Eve, we heard the prayers in the church, the singing of Merry Christmas, the decoration of Christmas blocks, and the expressions of Jews who do not need to celebrate Christmas as usual.Under the night, everything is mysterious and warm~
Day7 Balance car + crying (west) wall + bitter road + Church of the Holy Sepulchre
Israel always gives me a lot of surprises, such as his tolerance for faith. For example, people on the front are still full of history, and they step onto the balance bike the next second, instantly turning into a fresh style of walking slowly in the breeze. In Israel, balance bikes are a very common means of transportation. The balance bike that is not too anxious is just like the comfort of life that the Israelis pursue~
We have learned to balance bike, ride in the sunshine and face the wind. Riding on a balance bike and gliding among the mountains. The buildings at the foot of the mountain, the scenery on the road, and the extra caution when turning are all clamoring for the meaning of our travel.
After ending the ride of the balance bike, we came to the famous Crying (West) Wall, which was once a section of the Second Temple of the ancient Jewish Kingdom in the Old City of Jerusalem. For thousands of years, Jews have always come here to kiss and mourn and cry and exile. In the cracks in the wall, the large and small pieces of paper are the best prayers and wishes~
Visit tips
Leaving the Wailing Wall, we return to the old city of Jerusalem, here are fourteen painful roads that Jesus once walked. We walked along each stop and finally reached the Church of the Holy Sepulchre (the last stop).
Holy Sepulchre Church is located in the center of the old city of Jerusalem. According to legend, this is the end of the fourteen tragedy road, and it is also the place where Jesus was buried and resurrected after his death. It has a history of more than 1,700 years and is the oldest church in the world. It has been damaged and rebuilt many times and has stood still to this day.
Many believers in the church worshipped me. I stopped at the stone slab where the saying "Jesus applied medicine" was written on it, and bowed my head and felt this power with them. "What is faith? - It is the constraint of no punishment and a sincere firmness"
DAY 8: The ending of Mount Olives
On the 8th day, after breakfast in the hotel, we embarked on the way back. On the way to the airport, we passed by Mount Olives, where we saw a panoramic view of the Old Town of Jerusalem.
And I also accidentally photographed such a "old man and donkey". The old man sang a song and gave us blessings, giving us a somewhat surprising ending for this trip to Israel.
A 7-day and 8-night trip to Israel. The strategies I want to tell you are "bolded" in the article, or marked with small tips.
In fact, every once in a while, I will ask myself what the journey is? escape? experience? Talk about topics? Experience? These words continue to iterate in my mind as I traveled more and more. But what remains unchanged is the curiosity about the world and the courage to face the unknown before each departure.
It allows me to lower myself during my travels and perceive with my heart, whether it is faith, customs, or everything I see~
2018 ended the Israeli journey of faith. In the first month of 2019, until this article hits the "end" and I have already gone to 3 cities. We are always on the road with different steps.
So what about you? What scenery do you want to see in 2019? Which way to go
? Would you like to see the world with me?
