"TOP University is Coming" Editor's note, on October 12, Times Higher Education (THE) 2023 World University Rankings were released, Tsinghua University , Peking University , Fudan University , Shanghai Jiaotong University , Zhejiang University , China University of Science and Technology , Nanjing University 7 Mainland universities ranked among the top 100 .
In this ranking, Tsinghua University ranked first in Asia (16th place), and is also the highest performing Chinese university; Peking University followed closely behind, ranking 17th in the world . "China's Top 2 Universities" both entered the top 20 in the world.
In addition, in my country, , Hong Kong , a total of 5 universities were selected as the top 100 . Hong Kong University ranks 31st, Chinese University of Hong Kong ranks 45th, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology ranks 58th, Hong Kong Polytechnic University ranks 79th, City University of Hong Kong ranks 99th.
China Taiwan Province The highest ranking university is Taiwan University , ranking 187.
Selected universities in mainland China
The ranking of mainland China continues to rise overall this year, with the total average score increasing from 35.9 three years ago to 41.8, thanks to the improvement in research reputation and citations in research publications.
World University Ranking
In the ranking of 2023, a total of 1,799 universities from 104 countries/regions were on the list , an increase of 137 from last year, setting a record high.
It is worth noting that Oxford has ranked world number one in this list for seven consecutive years, Harvard ranked second , Cambridge ranked world third .
