Beijing time this morning, Times Higher Education (THE) released the latest version of "2023 World University Rankings" . THE is one of the world university rankings with high global recognition of and is a standard for talents introduced by many countries and regions.
Let’s take a look at the ranking results for this year right away.
#01 ranking review
✎United Kingdom’s Oxford University ranked first for the seventh consecutive year. The performance of other British universities is analyzed later.
✎U.S. has the largest number of universities on the list, but the number of universities entering the top 100 in the world has continued to decline , from the highest peak in 2018 to 34 this year.
✎ There are 95 universities in mainland China on the list, ranking 4th in the world in , second only to the United States (177), Japan (117) and the United Kingdom (103), and surpasses Australian . A total of 7 universities in mainland China have entered the top 100 universities in the world, and Nanjing University has ranked among the top 100 universities in the world for the first time, ranking 95th.

If university does not recruit undergraduate , or the university has fewer than 1,000 -related publications from 2017 to 2021 (at least 150 per year on average), then university cannot enter the world university ranking .
