Shenzhen college rankings continue to rise

On April 25th local time, the World University Ranking Center (CWUR) released the 2022-2023 World University Rankings. On this list, Shenzhen universities ranked new high.

Among them, Shenzhen University ranked 36th in Mainland universities , ranked 358th in the world (490th last year) ; Southern University of Science and Technology ranked 55th in the mainland universities , ranked 487th in the world (751st last year) .

In recent years, the ranking of Shenzhen universities on this list has been rising. Shenzhen University rose from 83rd to 36th in 2016; Southern University of Science and Technology rose from 82nd to 55th in 2021, and 's world ranking rose rapidly compared with last year.

It is reported that the World University Ranking Center evaluated a total of 19,788 universities around the world in 2022. China's Tsinghua University , Peking University , Chinese Academy of Sciences and Taiwan University ranked in the top 100 in the world.

World University Ranking Center (CWUR) is located in Saudi Arabia . It has been released in 2012. It mainly examines four aspects: education quality of (25%) in global universities, alumni employment (25%), teacher quality (10%) and academic research performance (40%).

It is understood that the CWUR World University Ranking is the only global university academic ranking in that does not rely on questionnaires and data submitted by schools for evaluation.

World University Influence Ranking was released

April 28, Times Higher Education (THE) released the world university influence ranking. The ranking includes 1,524 universities in 110 countries and regions around the world, producing a total ranking and a single ranking of 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals ("SDGs" for short).

This year, a total of 20 mainland Chinese universities participated in the influence ranking, of which 13 universities entered the overall ranking, and the other 7 participated in the individual ranking.

Fudan University , Southeast University of Science and Technology and Southwest University of Petroleum enter the total ranking list for the first time. Among them, Southern University of Science and Technology ranked 301-400th.

It is reported that the list requires colleges and universities to participate and submit relevant data to THE to participate in the ranking.

In the single ranking of Sustainable Development Goal 8—Decent Work and Economic Growth, two mainland Chinese universities entered the top ten in the world, namely Fudan University (second place), and Southern University of Science and Technology (ninth place). The ranking of mainly focuses on the economic research, employment practices and the proportion of students participating in work internships at universities.

For this ranking, Times Higher Education Chief Knowledge Officer Phil Barty said that the Times Higher Education World University Influence Ranking is mainly based on how universities can improve our world, rather than based on traditional measures such as wealth and academic reputation.

Times Higher Education World University Influence Rankings was first launched in 2019 and is the only global ranking of that evaluates the progress of universities in achieving the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Shenzhen University ranks 17th among mainland universities, and its world ranking is in the range of 351-400. Last year, Shenzhen University entered the top 500 on the list for the first time, ranking in the 401-500 range, with a rapid rise and strong momentum.

It is understood that the Times Higher Education World University Rankings are updated every year, and 13 indicators are ranked in five categories including teaching, research, paper citation, internationalization, industrial income , and more than 1,000 best universities in the world (involving 93 countries and regions).
