In 2007, in order to prepare for the Beijing Olympics, China Baseball Association reached a cooperation with MLB to allow the Chinese national team to go to the United States to participate in the competition and study. The Chinese national team first played 16 coaching games, and then fought with all six teams of Qiulian.
This is the first time in Qiulian's history that a foreign team has participated in the competition.
