When they arrived at the east mountain of Xugang, the reporter saw that the hook machine had cleaned up the damaged house, the owner of the shop was dealing with the goods in the store, and the villagers helped clean up the after-disaster property. According to villagers in Dongbianshan Natural Village, the tornado occurred at around 4:50 pm on the 15th and lasted for about 2 minutes.
"It was hail and tornado again. I heard only the crackling sound. The house was instantly knocked down by the tornado. I had no time to dodge and was directly forced to the corner of the house by the tornado." On the afternoon of the 17th, Hu Chungui, the owner of the shop, was still scared when he talked about the incident. At that time, the couple in the house were accompanied by their granddaughter and two villagers from Dongbianshan. Fortunately, they were all safe and sound.
Hu Chungui is 69 years old and from Mengjiawan, Sushan Township. Since 1992, the couple have been contracting a supply and marketing cooperative store in Dongbianshan, Xugang. The store is a one-story tiled house with five bricks and wood. After the accident, relevant persons from Sushan Township Supply and Marketing Cooperative and County Supply and Marketing Cooperative came to the scene to check. Xugang Village Committee arranged a hook to level the shops after the disaster, eliminating safety hazards.
and Wu Bolin, a villager in the Xibianshan Natural Village near the east mountain, introduced that afternoon, he had collected rapeseed at home and was about to go to the field to get things home. Before he could get into the field, he saw a slap sound on the right mountain depression, and there was still hail as big as a thumb in the sky. It is understood that this phenomenon is commonly known as "passing the dragon" by local villagers, describing a dragon passing by and a storm to open the way.
Wu Berlin is 69 years old and weighs about 170 kilograms. He said: "At that time, I couldn't stand firm and everyone floated up. Unexpectedly, a tornado was blown over a whole field. Fortunately, a hat was worn on his head, blocking the hail attack. When the tornado came, he couldn't even put on the hat on his head, so he had to cover the hat with his hands, and his hands were swollen by hail." A villager who was with Wu Berlin was also hit by hail in the wild. As Wu Berlin said, if he was pushed into the pond by a tornado, he might lose his life.
From May 14th to 15th, the meteorological department of Duchang County issued warnings for two consecutive days such as heavy rainfall, hail and strong winds, and required all prevention work for short-term heavy rainfall. With the arrival of the plum rain season, strong convective weather occurs from time to time. In addition to paying attention to weather changes, everyone must strengthen their own prevention and ensure safety.
