College student becomes a courier

He is watching a delivery project for SF Express in a nearby warehouse. He has been busy at 7 a.m. until now, and he has time to make up for a breakfast.
Because of irregular work, you can’t eat three meals a day on time. For Gu Cong, this is the norm.
"Now my stomach is so 'smart'. When will it finish work? When will it shout hungry?" He endured hardships and felt tired, and he always brought "happiness" to him who was born in the 1995.
In November 2015, Gu Cong was also a junior student in the logistics management department of Shijiazhuang Business Vocational College, and was intern in the Huaian Road Branch of SF Express Shijiazhuang.
At that time, most of the couriers in the sales department had high school education, and Gu Cong, a junior college student, could be called a high education.
"You are a college student, why do you do express delivery?" Colleagues, classmates, parents, and almost everyone around you didn't understand Gu Cong's choice. In their eyes, the job of delivering express is low in technical content, hard, tiring and boring, and is a last resort to make a living.
But Gu Cong doesn't think so.
Gu Cong talked about an impressive number when talking about the internship: 91.2 billion, which is the total transaction volume of the "Double 11" Tmall platform in 2015. In 2014, this figure was 57.1 billion yuan, an increase of more than 30 billion yuan a year.
"If this continues, the express delivery industry will have a promising future, and the profession of couriers will have different excitement," said Gu Cong.
In fact, Gu Cong first applied for the "Logistics Management" major to prepare for the express delivery industry.
At that time, there were two people born in the 1995s who worked as couriers at SF Express at the same time as Gu Cong, but they both resigned soon. Because not everyone can bear the pain.
First of all, it is sun-drying and snowing all year round.
In summer, Gu Cong's face, neck and arms were tanned and shiny. He took off his top and had a clear boundary. When it rained heavily, the express tricycle broke down, and Gu Cong pushed it step by step, storming the accumulated water that was less than the depth of his calf.
Winter is more "hard" than summer.
Gu Cong took out a photo for the reporter - a courier guy with snow falling from head to toe, riding an electric bike on the road, and the courier bag behind him was also covered by snow, and the color could not be recognized.
This "snowman" is Gu Cong. The photo was taken by a colleague in a heavy snowfall in Shijiazhuang in the winter of 2015.
The area where Gu Cong is responsible for delivering is Building C of the Vientiane Tiancheng Office Building in Shijiazhuang.
The daily express delivery work starts from 7:30 in the morning to the business department, and three rounds are collected and three rounds are distributed in a day. The first round of delivery of parcels started at 8 o'clock, and I went back to the business department to make and sort them at 6 o'clock in the afternoon. In addition, the regular meeting before work was held, it was already after 9 o'clock in the evening after get off work.
According to the delivery regulations, the delivery must be delivered to the customer within 2 hours; the delivery must be collected within 1 hour of the customer placing an order.After a long time, Gu Cong was working, he had a watch that only counted down and followed him on the road.
Gu Cong shuttles through the office building, sending and receiving an average of 150-200 pieces every day, and at the most, there are more than 300.
The reporter carried the courier bag of the courier guy, which was seventy or eighty centimeters high, about the same size as the outdoor special bag. If you just have an empty bag, you will have to press your shoulders. Gu Cong often has to hold forty or fifty kilograms of express delivery in his bag. "Every one of us couriers can hold our urine very much. It is no problem to hold our urine for three or four hours." Gu Cong smiled helplessly.
Five or six years ago, there were not so many public toilets on the roadside of Shijiazhuang, and many communities did not have public toilets. Now, although Gu Cong is not on the front line to collect express delivery, he is happy for the couriers where he sees a new public toilet.
After a day, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, the number of delivery items is the smallest. Gu Cong can find a place to take a break or even take a nap. And this place may be a park seat or a courier car.
"There is a seat around the tree in the area I am responsible for. It is more comfortable than in a small car, and it is even more boring and unable to stretch out your legs." Gu Cong is 1.85 meters tall, and the car is only 1.4 meters long.

Courier is not just a "errand runner"

Gu Cong only took 12 minutes to pack all the items, the shortest. The second place was 15 minutes, and the third place was timed out.

Once, a customer called Gu Cong at around 6 pm and said that there was a particularly important contract that must be sent out on the same day. At that time, Gu Cong had already returned to the business department.
Gu Cong came back to pick up the pieces and it was past 7 o'clock in the evening. The last delivery vehicle had already been transferred to the Gaocheng , which was more than 40 kilometers away from the outlet.

In November 2019, Gu Cong became the head of the Shijiazhuang Huaxia Branch of SF Express through a competition. At the age of 23, he set a record for the youngest age of the head of the Jizhou District branch in SF Express.
However, less than two months after taking office, he encountered the challenge of calling himself a "hell level" difficulty - the epidemic.

At 6 pm on the eighth day of the first lunar month (February 1, 2020), Gu Cong received a special order - a batch of mobile communication equipment from China Mobile System Integration Co., Ltd., which needs to be sent to the Wuhan Huoshenshan Hospital construction site immediately.
The customer suggested that the ninth day of the lunar month must arrive, and the tenth day of the lunar month must be used, leaving him with less than 36 hours.
The first solution that Gu Cong thought of was air freight. However, electronic equipment is not allowed to be on the plane. Even if the shipping is reported, Wuhan SF Express will be suspended and no one will send it.
The second plan is to send a special car to transport it on the highway, but the driver who can't find the job for the moment.
Gu Cong made dozens of calls with the district headquarters, communicated all night, and finally found a driver. "Brother, you're so good, come back safely!" The driver set off at 10 am on the ninth day of the first lunar month. Before leaving, Gu Cong went to cheer the driver up.
At 10:00 on the first lunar month, a special car arrived at the Wuhan Expressway exit, and China Mobile Wuhan Company took over and transported the equipment directly to the Huoshenshan construction site. In the express delivery work, there are not many such grand majors, and more ordinary trivial matters to be solved.
A new round of epidemic occurred in Shijiazhuang at the beginning of 2021.

"The team arrives at the supermarket at 8 o'clock every morning, and the couriers often deliver at 10:30 pm. At most, we deliver more than 1,500 orders on a day, and at most, one person delivers more than 60 orders on a day." Gu Cong said.
Express tricycle runs until it runs out of power, bread and instant noodles are three meals a day, but when the couriers hear customers say "Thank you, thank you for your hard work, pay attention to safety" through the door, they gained an unprecedented sense of professional honor.
