China News Service, Xiamen, November 29 (Reporter Yang Fushan) Kaige Sports Health City Asian Golf Championship held a kickoff ceremony at Xiamen Kaige Golf Club on the 29th. 108 golfers from 16 countries and regions will officially swing from the 30th to December 3rd.

This is the first time that the Asian Tour has returned to China after 9 years. It is also the first competition jointly organized by the Asian Tour and the Chinese Golf Association.
On the same day, the organizing committee of the event held a press conference to disclose information that the total prize money of the event was US$350,000, and it was jointly certified by the Asian Tour and the Chinese Tour. Chen Zhonghe, deputy director of Fujian Sports Bureau and chairman of Fujian Higher Education Association, Pang Zheng, secretary-general of China Golf Association, Josh Brack, CEO of Asia Tour, Ouyang Wen, CEO of China Tour-regular season, and Cai Liangping, chairman of Kaige Golf Club, attended the press conference on the same day.
Pang Zheng said that the 2017 China Tour consists of two types of competitions: China Tour-regular season and China Tour-joint certification events. The Kaige Sports Health City Asian Golf Championship belongs to the category of China Tour-joint certification events. Its implementation means the formation of a more open, inclusive and distinctive Chinese Tour.
"Such a Chinese tour can not only provide the world's top competitive stage, but also ensure sufficient basic event games at the same time, providing most growing Chinese professional players with opportunities to hone their skills. It is a complete event system with room for growth and goals," he said.
Josh Brack said that the Asian Tour is very fond of the implementation of the Kaige Sports Health City Asian Golf Championship in Xiamen. This "not only opens up more international channels for Chinese Tour players, wins more world points, and provides a more complete competition system; it also enriches the schedule of the Asian Tour, allowing more international players to appreciate the beauty of Chinese culture, and allows both the Chinese Tour and the Asian Tour to share the players, market, media and other resources."
According to reports, among the 108 golfers from 16 countries and regions participating in this competition, including 56 Asian Tour players, 48 Chinese Tour players and 4 wild card players.
In terms of the China Tour, Zhao Lexuan, Brighton McPherson, Liu Yanwei, He Shaocai, She Zihan , Jin Daxing and others led the competition, and in the Asian Tour, famous players such as Lin Wentang , Zhan Shichang, Hong Jianyao, Hong Zhiyong, and Mishawa were also in charge.

Asian Golf Championship is sponsored by the China Golf Association, jointly certified by the China Tour and the Asian Tour, co-organized by Fujian Provincial Sports Bureau and Xiamen Sports Bureau, and hosted by Fujian Higher Education Association, Fujian Swimming and Diving Center, Xiamen Higher Education Association, Sky Media, and Kaige Golf Club .
