Jiwei.com reported that TSMC President Wei Zhejia said at a French theories meeting today (13th) that customers' demand for 3 nanometers exceeds TSMC's supply and will be fully loaded next year.
According to Taiwan media "Juheng.com", Wei Zhejia pointed out that the demand for 3 nanometers exceeded expectations, partly because of the ongoing machine delivery problem. It is estimated that 3-nanometer revenue will account for about 4-6% next year.
"TSMC is working closely with equipment suppliers to prepare more capacity for the 3nm process to support customers' strong demand next year, 2024 and in the future," said Wei Zhejia.
In addition, regarding the 2nm technology process, Wei Zhejia revealed that everything has been going well so far, even better than expected, and is still expected to be mass-produced in 2025 as scheduled.
It is reported that 2 nanosheet technology will be used to improve the efficacy of 2 nanosheet technology compared with 3 nanometer technology. Under the same power consumption, the speed increases by 10~15%, or under the same speed, the power consumption decreases by 25~30%.
