Line 8 runs through 5 administrative regions including Yanta District , Xincheng District, Baqiao District , Weiyang District , Lianhu District , as well as high-tech zone, Qujiang New District , champagne Ecological Park, Economic Development Zone 4 new development areas including the district.
According to the latest environmental impact assessment report, Metro Line 8 is 49.896km long, all of which are underground lines, along Zhangba East Road, Yanzhan Road, Yannan Fourth Road, Hanyao Road, South Third Ring Road, Changming Road, Xingfu Forest belt, Guangyuntan Avenue, Xiangba 1st Road, Fengcheng 2nd Road, Zhuhong Road, Daxing Road, West Second Ring Road, Fenghui Road and Tangyan Road were arranged.

According to the draft for environmental impact assessment, Metro Line 8 involves Han Chang'an City Ruins (the ground ruins of Han Chang'an City and the Tangbiyong site), and the Chang'an City Ruins of Sui and Tangtang Tang Tang Tang Tang ( Yanpingmen ruins and Temple of Heaven ruins), Duling 3 cultural relics protection units.
8 will pass through the Han Chang'an City Ruins in the form of a tunnel to control the construction control zone of in the Han Chang'an City Ruins, the Sui and Tang Dynasties construction control zone of and the landscape coordination zone, the Sui and Tang Dynasties construction control zone, the Duling general protection scope, construction control zone and environmental coordination zone.
Before the construction of these areas, the subway will carry out detailed archaeological exploration and investigation work, and use the sectional tunnel to pass through the Han Chang'an City ruins. The sectional tunnel construction adopts the shield construction method with the least environmental impact and the most effective settlement control. Reduce the impact on the site, while trying to increase the burial depth to reduce the impact of vibration on cultural relics.
