Pingtan is located in the eastern part of Fujian Province and consists of 126 islands and 702 rocks. There are not only flat and wide beaches here, but also a large number of strange and spectacular sea erosion landforms. The sea, lake, sand and rocks complement each other, and the island scenery is beautiful. Pingtan faces Taiwan Island across the sea. It is the closest place in mainland China to Taiwan's main island, and is only 68 nautical miles away from Hsinchu City, Taiwan.
Pingtan is a very suitable place for tourism. The scenery is beautiful, and there are many rocks on the seaside. It looks like a fairy mountain on the sea.
The picture below is the famous sea erosion shaft "Fairy Well". Surrounded by cliffs, it looks like a deep well with a height of about forty meters. There are three holes at the bottom of the well. When the tide is high, sea water pours in, creating an extraordinary momentum. These three holes are all naturally formed due to seawater erosion.
The mountains and sea around Xianrenjing are intertwined. There are trails that can go all the way to the edge of the reef to overlook the sea.

On the other side, it is peaceful. Standing on a high place and looking down, you can have a panoramic view of the fishing port at the foot of the mountain.
Stone houses are a major feature of Pingtan Island architecture. From a distance, they feel like a stone city.
The most representative landscape in Pingtan is undoubtedly the country's tallest sea-eroded stone pillar- Shipaiyang, also known as "Half Ocean Stone Sail".
Looking from a distance, the "Haiyang Stone Sail" looks like a ship riding the wind and waves. The two natural sea-eroded stone pillars seem to be the two bulging sails on the ship. The image is very realistic.
If you want to go to Banyang Shifan, you have to take a boat from this pier.
The sea-eroded stones beside the pier are like soft and delicious bread, with green tea on them. No wonder it is known as the "Sea-eroded LandformMuseum". [Laughing]
This is a small hill in Banyang Shifan Scenic Area, which looks like a fish.
Taking this ferry, you can reach Banyang Shifan in ten minutes.
Banyang Shifan, also known as " Shipaiyang Scenic Area , is one of the national key scenic spots. The main scenery is two giant sea-eroded stone pillars, the taller one is 33 meters and the lower one is 17 meters. The bottom is a group of flat and complete rocks. Geologists have verified that it is the largest granite spherical weathered sea-eroded pillars in the country.
These two natural boulders are also known as the "Double Sail Stones" because they resemble double sails in the wind. They were known as "wonders of the world" as early as the Ming Dynasty. According to historical records, Emperor Duanzong of the Song Dynasty stayed here when he fled at sea. In ancient times, nearby fishermen would come here to worship before going out to sea, praying for smooth sailing and a fruitful return.
Banyang Stone Sail stands in the middle of the sea, and the sea wind is so strong that there is nowhere to hide, but sea fishermen are still brave enough to fish against the sea wind.
After leaving Banyang Shifan, we went to visit the largest wind power station on the southeast coast - Yangtze River Ao Wind Farm . I used to look at the wind turbine from a distance, but I didn't realize how big it was. It was the first time I stood under it and looked at it at such a close distance, and I realized that it was much bigger than I imagined, and the sound of its rotation was also very loud.
It is said that each leaf of the wind turbine is 35 meters long. It is frightening to stand directly below and look at it, as if the leaves are about to sweep over you. It is very realistic. [face covering]
After watching the power station, we next visited the Longfengtou Beach in Shili Jinsha. This bathing beach is particularly spectacular. The beach is 500 meters wide, stretches for 9.5 kilometers, and has a very gentle slope of only 2.2 degrees. It is one of the largest beach in the country.
Some people simply let their horses ride on the beach.
Pingtan is indeed the fifth largest island in China and the largest island in Fujian. The beach is very atmospheric.There are many commercial buildings built next to the bathhouse, and it is said that the housing prices here are high.
We stayed one night in Pingtan and went to climb Jiangjun Mountain early the next morning. This is the place where the former Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission Zhang Wannian in 1996 personally commanded the joint operations exercises of the three armed forces in the Taiwan Strait.
Not only the scenery here is beautiful, but you can also enjoy the fun of mountain climbing, using both hands and feet, and it is thrilling and dangerous.

A danger suddenly appeared. Queenie, a colleague who was afraid of heights, was so frightened that she simply squatted down and did not dare to stand up to watch.
But this was the only way to go, but it was not possible, so two people pulled Queenie forward with difficulty. To be honest, my legs were a little shaky when I was crossing that section of road. What I could see was rocks and the sea.
Sure enough, there is infinite scenery on the dangerous peak. After crossing the most dangerous section of the road, there is infinite scenery. Even the shadows of the clouds in the sky are imprinted on the sea!
The rocks all over the mountain are like an iron horse, rough and powerful.
After leaving Jiangjun Mountain, we continued on to Nanzhai Shijinglin , which is known as the "Garden of Longevity". The stones inside resemble various animals. The one in the picture below looks like a monkey with its head turned to the left.

Pingtan Island has a complete landscape of mountains and seas, including the country's tallest peculiar sea-eroded stone pillar - Banyang Shifan, the majestic Jiangjun Mountain , the nearly ten kilometers of Longfengtou Beach , the largest wind power station on the southeast coast - Yangtze River Ao wind farm, colorful sea erosion landforms , fishing villages can be seen everywhere, stone dwellings are also quite unique, it is definitely another tourist attraction in Fujian Province!
