On the same day, the special exhibition "1895~Taiwan's Big Family's Plan to Save the Nation" and "Irreducible Evidence - Exhibition of Japanese Invasion Archives from Jilin Provincial Archives" were jointly opened at the Wangwang Zhongshi Building in Taipei.

The special exhibition "1895~Taiwan's Great Families Saved the Nation from the Nation" takes the anti-Japanese history of the Lin family of Wufeng, the Liao family of Fengyuan, the Qiu family of both sides of the Taiwan Strait, the Jiang family of Beipu, the Xiao family of Jiadong, the Chen family of Dalongdong, and the Li family of Luzhou as clues, and uses a large number of precious historical pictures and texts to show the heroic deeds of the Taiwanese people to save the nation.
Among them, the Wufeng Lin family was praised as "three generations of national heroes, a century-old Taiwanese family." Lin Guanghui, a descendant of Wufeng's Lin family and the founding president of the Taiwan Anti-Japanese Comrade Relatives Association, said in an interview with a reporter from China News Service that after the Qing government was forced to cede Taiwan in 1895, the Taiwanese people always wanted to drive away the Japanese and return to the motherland. In the next 50 years, whether it was armed resistance against Japan or unarmed resistance against Japan, the Lin family in Wufeng was never absent. "I am proud of the spirit of my ancestors."

Lin Guanghui believes that many Taiwanese families have a history of participating in the Anti-Japanese War on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, which shows that the two sides of the Taiwan Strait are historically connected and inseparable. Now in Taiwan, the anti-Japanese situation at that time and the history of the suffering of the Taiwanese people should be truly and objectively presented so that young people know what happened on their land.
General Li Youbang of the Li family in Luzhou established four Taiwanese hospitals on the mainland and led the Taiwan Volunteer Corps and the Taiwan Youth League in the war of resistance against Japan. He put forward the slogan "Defend the Motherland, Protect Taiwan" and believed that without the motherland, it would be impossible to protect Taiwan. Mr. Li Liqun, a descendant of the Li family in Luzhou, said in an interview with a reporter from China News Service that day that studying and understanding Taiwan's anti-Japanese history can bring the two sides closer together.
This special exhibition also jointly launched "Iron-Evidence--Exhibition of Japanese Invasion of China Archives in Jilin Provincial Archives" in conjunction with the Jilin Provincial Archives.
According to reports, in August 1945, the Japanese Kwantung Military Police destroyed a large number of files of the invasion of China before surrendering, and at the same time buried the un-destroyed documents underground. In November 1953, these files were rediscovered and transferred to the Jilin Provincial Archives for preservation in 1982. In 2014, Jilin Provincial Archives released some of the files.
This time, Jilin Provincial Archives has selected 74 precious files among them. Through these irrefutable evidence of the Japanese invasion of China left by the Japanese troops themselves, we can restore the truth, reflect the unyielding history of the Chinese people in resisting Japanese aggression, and effectively counter the absurd words and deeds of the Japanese right-wing forces that distort and beautify the history of aggression.

The joint exhibition is jointly organized by the Cross-Strait Peace and Development Association, the Taiwan Anti-Japanese Comrade Relatives Association, the Chinese People's Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall, the Jilin Provincial Archives Bureau, and the Want Want China Times Media Group Business Times. The exhibition will end on September 7.
