In order to develop the local chip manufacturing industry, the United States has been actively promoting semiconductor manufacturing in Taiwan, China to build factories in the United States. At the same time, the recent crisis in the Taiwan Strait has also become the reason why the United States exaggerates the instability of Taiwan's semiconductor supply chain, and the issue of " semiconductor manufacturing de-Taiwanization" has been hotly hyped.
Recently, Intel CEO Kissinger said at a technology forum held by the " Wall Street Journal " that Taiwan does occupy a very critical position in the global technology supply chain, but it is not stable enough. Since Pelosi visited Taiwan in August, Taiwan's relations have continued to be tense, making him more worried about the stability of the Taiwan Strait region.
Recently, Huang Chongren, chairman of foundry Liji Electric, responded in an interview with the media that Taiwan's semiconductor industry can lead in the world, mainly because of the good quality of engineers, relatively low costs, very high CP value, cheaper than the United States, and the chip sales are international price . In this way, "TSMC can always make money" and continue to invest in advanced processes with the money earned.

He pointed out that Taiwan has these conditions that promote the advantages of the semiconductor industry, including the high quality of engineers, internationalization of the industry, relatively low costs, and government support for factory building. If these conditions are not available, "if it is not necessary to move to the United States, the advantages can exist."
Huang Chongren said that how to preserve the competitiveness of Taiwan’s semiconductor industry in the future will be the key, for example, continue to cultivate the high quality of engineers through the Semiconductor Academy. He also suggested that the government can provide sustainable assistance to land, energy, water, environmental protection and other resources. The current industry is concerned about whether the water and electricity can be supplied stably. In addition, tax regulations can also make breakthroughs.
TSMC's Arizona factory in the United States will hold the first batch of machine equipment arrival ceremony in December, attracting much attention from all walks of life.
Huang Chongren said that the United States is still the world's largest semiconductor country industry, including in IC design and equipment manufacturing, but in the wafer manufacturing link, Taiwan, China and Taiwan has a leading position and has the conditions to win, "it can't be taken away just by chance."
He said that semiconductor investment "is not something that can be lost if the money is left." TSMC has also experienced more than 30 years of development. In the past, Japanese semiconductors were also very strong, but now China and Taiwan have surpassed them. If countries around the world want to do semiconductors, "it is also looking for Taiwan, not the United States." Taiwan will also have the conditions to export semiconductor technology in the future.
Regarding the United States' intention to win over Japan to jointly deploy semiconductors, Huang Chongren gave an example. Japan's Sony (Sony) is still cooperating with TSMC. Japan's Kumamoto factory's process is TSMC's advanced technology, "it still cannot be without Taiwan, China." He said that the United States' desire to win over Japan's semiconductor layout is also a consideration of regional integration, and he has confidence in Taiwan's semiconductor industry.
