According to the outside world's speculation that Taichung mayor Lu Xiuyan and New Taipei mayor Hou Youyi will join forces to run for the 2024 Taiwan leaders' "general election". Lu Xiuyan made her first statement in an exclusive interview with Zhao Shaokang, chairman of China Guangxi on the 28th that although she did not know what the election was at the end of the year, the Kuomintang currently only had two "municipalities" presidents and Hou Youyi. It is unlikely that both of them would go to elect the leaders of Taiwan, and they even said bluntly, "I don't have such plans."

Lu Xiuyan was asked by the host Zhao Shaokang what he thought of the 2024 "Hou Lupeng" and Lu Xiuyan responded that "the possibility is not great". Although she didn't know what the election was at the end of the year, because the Kuomintang currently has two "municipalities" presidents, it is not feasible that both of them went to elect the leaders of Taiwan.
Lu Xiuyan believes that Hou Youyi is very suitable to choose a leader in Taiwan, because he has been deputy mayor for 8 years and mayor for 4 years. "Basically, with his good 'ruling' ability and the people's trust in him, I think it is more likely that he will run for election."
Lu Xiuyan also emphasized that as long as the Kuomintang can win the "general election", she will support anyone and will sincerely assist the election. The reason for the election is that she hopes that Taiwan will change and make progress, and hopes that Taiwan will be on the right path so that the people will not work so hard anymore, but as for the leaders of Taiwan, she has no such plan.
