Take a speedboat from Guishan Island, Zhuhai,
, the sun is shining with waves,
, about 20 minutes,
, a white "sea fortress" stands on the blue sea,
, a five-star red flag flutters in the wind on the "fortress".
This is the destination of the Guangdong Marine Industry Media Field Trip Group for this event
- the large-scale semi-submersible wave energy breeding tourism platform "Penghu".

htmlOn January 23, the Guangdong Marine Industry Media Fieldwork Group organized by Guangdong Ocean and Fisheries Publishing and Media Co., Ltd. came to my country's first semi-submersible wave energy breeding tourism platform - "Penghu". Many media reporters from China Natural Resources Daily, Southern Daily, Yangcheng Evening News, Southern Metropolis Daily, Xinkuaibao, Zhuhai Special Zone Daily and other media reporters boarded the "Penghu" and visited this "Sea Fortress" up close, deeply felt the technological charm of deep sea aquaculture equipment, and experienced the leisure fishing fun brought by the platform.

The field tour group set off from Guishan Island, took a speedboat for about 20 minutes, and arrived at the "Penghu". "Penghu" is 60 meters long, 28 meters wide, 16 meters high, and has a working draft of 11.3 meters; it means that the visible part from the sea surface is nearly 5 meters high, and after parking, you need to climb the ladder to climb the platform deck. Looking down from the sky, the deck of the "Penghu" happens to be in the shape of a "Sun" and surrounds two square aquaculture water bodies, nearly half of which are also equipped with photovoltaic power plates. According to researchers from the Guangzhou Institute of Energy, a Chinese Academy of Sciences, the platform is equipped with a renewable energy installed capacity of 120kW, of which wave energy installed capacity is 60kW, solar energy installed capacity is 60kW, and energy storage configuration is 500kWh. The wave energy and solar energy devices cooperate with each other, so that the platform's energy is self-sufficiency, and all comes from offshore renewable energy.

From the deck, holding the fence towards the center of the platform, there are two farming water areas formed by combining steel structures and soft nets. The fierce grouper and the cute golden pomfret are each occupying one of the places swimming in the sea. It is reported that the "Penghu" can provide 15,000 cubic cubic water bodies, with a maximum of about 250 to 300 tons of ordinary fish. The aquaculture system is equipped with modern fishery production equipment such as automatic bait feeding, fish school monitoring, water quality monitoring and live fish transmission.
In June 2019, with the support of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Guangdong Province, the "Penghu" was built at the Mazhou Island Construction Base of China Merchants Heavy Industry (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. and was put into the Zhuhai Raidzhou Island Breeding Fishery of Guangdong Dalinyang Marine Biological Co., Ltd. in August of that year. It has been continuously operated for more than one and a half years, and has successfully completed the trial breeding of two varieties in two seasons. The first season is to try to raise a golden pomfret, and the fish will be released before New Year's Day 2020. The fish are bright in color and strong in shape, and the wholesale price is 2 yuan/jin higher than the traditional cage fish. The second season is to raise a grouper, and it is currently growing well and will be sold soon. No fish disease occurred during the trial breeding of two fish in the two seasons. The fish farmed by "Penghu" after testing were excellent, which basically verified the advantages of large water farming in open sea areas. During the operation, it experienced two summer storms and a frontal attack of a level 14 typhoon. The installation was stable and normal, without any accidents of breaking the net or running fish, and no deaths of fish in the cage occurred, achieving safe production under harsh sea conditions.

platform is equipped with seawater desalination, sewage treatment, water heater, air conditioner, freezer and other living equipment. It has 20 people's living space and has 300 cubic warehousing space, providing good conditions for the "Penghu" to carry out maritime tourism. The reporters of the field trip group also experienced the feeling of fishing and "sunbathing" on the platform. It is reported that the "Penghu" has become a highlight of Guishan tourism, and Guishan Island + "Penghu" has become a classic tourist route in Guangdong Province. Up to now, the "Penghu" has received visits from many provinces and cities such as Beijing, Guangdong, Liaoning, Shandong, Shanghai, Fujian, Guangxi, Hainan, and Macau, and has received more than 2,000 visitors.

Scientific researchers introduced that the platform has a design life of 20 years and is expected to achieve a return on its cost in 3-4 years, which has good economicality. The Guangzhou Institute of Energy of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has now obtained multiple orders in Guangdong, Hainan, etc., and has completed the final design of multiple semi-submersible wave energy breeding tourism platforms of different sizes and different breeding scales.

In the future, this semi-submersible wave energy aquaculture tourism platform will respond to Guangdong's "marine ranch" construction strategy and plan, improve platform technology optimization and upgrading; and scientifically deploy aquaculture plans to expand the scale of aquaculture within the scope of the aquaculture capacity of this platform; at the same time, improve the acceptance capacity of the integrated platform for wave energy aquaculture tourism, improve the construction of the hardware and software system and the supporting system of the offshore service, actively promote the development of the offshore leisure fishery industry, form a new type of maritime economic growth points and profit and tax points, and promote the high-quality development of the marine economy.
"Penghu No." is the fifth stop of the Guangdong Marine Industry Media Fieldwork Trip Group. In the future, Guangdong Ocean and Fisheries Publishing and Media Co., Ltd. will continue to organize media fieldwork Trip Groups to visit marine enterprises, understand Guangdong's marine industry, promote Guangdong's marine industry, and help build a strong marine province.
