In recent years, MOBA games have been in the limelight. However, whether it is a game or a type of game, it has its own rise and fall cycle. RTS e-sports once dominated the world, followed by MOBA e-sports emerging and gradually became the mainstream of the market.
Nowadays, "CS", which can be called the veteran of FPS e-sports, has developed to "CS:GO". FPS e-sports is no longer a gun showdown in the traditional sense. " Overwatch " that was popular all over the world in 2016 and " PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds " in 2017 have both injected new connotations and vitality into the current FPS e-sports.
What went against my expectations was that while FPS games were developing, the results of domestic FPS e-sports did not keep up with the pace of development. On October 24, in the CSGO Cologne qualifiers in Katowice, Poland, the Chinese Tianlu team lost 3-16 to the aliens dignitas team, and missed the Cologne main match with a record of two wins and three losses. Although it is only one step away from the Chinese CSGO printing, this is still the best result achieved by the Chinese CSGO team in the World Championship.
Take the two major categories of top games " League of Legends " and "CS:GO" as examples. The total number of views in the League of Legends S11 World Championship finals exceeded 1.6 billion hours, while the total number of views of the two Major events in 2021 was 63 million hours and 55 million hours. This shows that the attention of FPS events is still a certain gap between them and MOBA events.

3FPS e-sports next hot spot?
After decades of development, China's e-sports has slowly been on the right track. Various e-sports leagues are becoming more and more regular, and the game industry chain is becoming more and more perfect, becoming a major e-sports power around the world, but China is still some distance away from being a strong e-sports power.
Since SKY won the Warcraft WCG championship, domestic e-sports teams have achieved good results in well-known games such as "League of Legends" and "Dota2". Especially after IG won the S8 finals, China has become a strong e-sports powerhouse. But the biggest shortcoming of China's e-sports lies in the FPS e-sports, the oldest project of e-sports .
Although Tianlu stopped in the qualifiers, he gained valuable experience and realized the huge gap between the Asian team and Europe. Previously, in the IEM Cologne Championship, Tianlu performed poorly in the group stage. After Tianlu was eliminated, CSGO international competition also became the world of foreign teams. Driven by the global e-sports event system, the industry scale of MOBA events has expanded rapidly, while the FPS e-sports event, which are also the leading ones, still has a way to go.

China's FPS e-sports level is still a big gap compared with Europe and the United States
Compared with its continued strength in MOBA projects, it is also the most popular group e-sports project in the world, FPS has always been not good at in China. Even before 2018, which can be called the first year of China's e-sports, the last international champion of the FPS program in the history of China's e-sports was traced back to the distant 2005. At that time, the first generation of e-sports people in China briefly defended the glory of FPS e-sports that belonged to China.
WEG2005, wNv team once won the championship in CS1.6 project. This is the first time that the Chinese team won the team championship in a world-class FPS project. Since the release of the CS series of e-sports competitions, this is also the only achievement of the Chinese team in the world.
On July 30, 2018, the e-sports team OMG from China held up the trophy high. They surpassed 20 top teams from South Korea, Japan, Australia, Turkey, Vietnam and other countries and regions with a total score of 3,425 points, and won the FPP mode championship of the PUBG Global Invitational Tournament.
This is an uneasy day for Chinese e-sports players. In addition to OMG standing on the Berlin podium as a national team, more importantly, this is the Chinese team's second FPS world championship after 13 years.

At present, there are many people who are not optimistic about the development of domestic FPS e-sports. The development of FPS e-sports may really encounter bottlenecks.
First of all, the gameplay of FPS games is relatively fixed. Due to excessive investment in the competitive level, the game lacks entertainment and freedom.
Secondly, at the moment when mobile games are developing rapidly, a large number of mobile games have squeezed the living space of the PC game, and more games have been eliminated by the times, and gradually becoming niche FPS games will be more difficult to avoid being eliminated by the times. It is worth noting that all e-sports projects that symbolize traffic have been selected as official projects for Hangzhou Asian Games , but computer-side FPS games such as "CS:GO" cannot be launched in the Hangzhou Asian Games.
The most important thing is that for competitive games, the players of FPS games have affected the overall environment of the game, resulting in continuous loss of players.
Over the past few years, the great success of MOBA events has made domestic players covet FPS champions for a long time. For Chinese e-sports, FPS e-sports is undoubtedly the victim of Chinese players.
lacks top events, and League of Legends occupies more player resources
With the continuous growth of global mobile game users, the mobile game market has also ushered in a blowout development. This is not only due to the influence of the national trend of mobile games, but also mobile devices have begun to have the ability to carry 3A-level experiences, which has also brought greater energy to mobile e-sports.
In the case where the global FPS international influence e-sports events are already scarce, it is difficult for players to find international e-sports events with the same influence in China. A large part of the reason is that "Dota2" and "League of Legends" have their own global event systems, and "PUBG" is gradually joining this big family, but now FPS e-sports game products have few innate abilities to build a global event system.
Among the many game categories, in addition to MOBA e-sports, FPS e-sports is another game category that occupies another absolutely important position, and we will find that the global market for FPS e-sports events is still scarce.
FPS e-sports' relatively fixed gameplay method has led to the inability to derive more rich gameplay, so that some popular FPS games are not suitable for professional e-sports events. For FPS events that have been carried out, how to maintain their lifespan is its biggest test.
For the entire FPS e-sports market, what is needed is a professional event with international influence to expand the scale of the event in the global e-sports market and achieve higher industrial influence.
