Julie Wilson, New Jersey, USA, is a photographer. She once had a biological sister Dina, but her sister unfortunately died of heart failure 4 years ago because Dina is a patient with Down's disease. In her past relationship with her sister, Julie and her family have received countless inspirations from her, so she hopes to let more people know about children with Down's disease through the following photography works.
▼In the United States, if a pregnant woman is diagnosed with Down syndrome, up to 90% of people will choose to let him go. Julie was shocked when she learned this data because she and her family thought that Dina was the best gift given to them by God.
▼ Children with Down's disease will have some common characteristics in nature, such as wide head and flat facial features, etc. They are also more likely to suffer from learning disabilities, , amblyopia, hearing impairment and cardiovascular disease.
▼Although the lifespan of Down syndrome children is shorter than that of ordinary people on average, they have great personality traits. They are kind and cheerful, and they always face things with a positive attitude. Even if they encounter misfortunes, they will give people full of courage.
▼Julie said that children with Down's disease are easily excluded and bullied due to exercise or learning disorders in school. She hopes that through this set of photos, everyone can see that children with Down's disease are a very beautiful existence.
▼ During the shooting process, she was surrounded by these children with Down's disease, and she felt extremely happy: "They are like a group of little angels ."
▼Dina passed away at the age of 35, but she left many precious memories to her family. Julie believes that Dina gave them far more than they gave them to Dina.
