htmlOn March 18, at the press conference on the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus pneumonia in Beijing, Liang Lianchun, director of the Infectious Disease Center of Beijing You'an Hospital, said in response to the question of whether patients with new coronavirus pneumonia will have sequelae after being cured. After , mild and ordinary patients generally will not have sequelae. According to the previous treatment experience of SARS and severe influenza patients, some severe COVID-19 patients may have mild pulmonary fibrosis in the short term after treatment, but the lungs have strong repair functions. Generally, pulmonary fibrosis will be absorbed and improved in the short term, and there will be no sequelae.
For a few extremely severe patients, the disease lasts for a long time and the pulmonary fibrosis formed is relatively severe, which will leave pulmonary fibrosis in the short term. Judging from the current observation, the two elderly patients with severe conditions treated by You'an Hospital, that is, patients with both lungs with "white lungs". A two-month review found that pulmonary fibrosis was basically absorbed, and the two felt that there were no symptoms. Further follow-up observation is required for whether there are sequelae in the future.
