Lin Wenshan, director of the Yunlin County Fire Department, said on the 19th that the investigation report will be completed within about 30 days after the fire was ruled out that the cause of the fire would include cigarette butts or high-temperature exhaust pipe catalysts coming into contact with hay on the ground.

Yunlin Agricultural Machinery Exhibition was launched on the 17th and ended on the 19th. Yunlin County Government opened the chaotic open space around the exhibition site into a temporary parking lot, and the cut weeds became open space pavements. The Fire Department received a report from the public on the afternoon of the 19th, accusing that cars were burned in the parking lot on the north side of the exhibition site, and dry weeds fueled the fire, causing 25 cars to burn.

Fire Department Director Lin Wenshan said that the video footage of the people on the scene on the 18th was examined to rule out artificial arson. The initial reason was that cigarette butts or high-temperature exhaust pipe catalysts touched the ground hay, causing a fire. Another possible reason was that the vehicle mechanical spontaneous combustion.

Lin Wenshan pointed out that the fire station fire dispatch personnel came to the scene on the 19th to investigate, lift the vehicles one by one, check the chassis of the vehicle, and clarify the cause of the fire. The fire investigation report is expected to be completed within 30 days, and the letter will be sent to the police for follow-up investigation.
