According to police investigation, at around 19:00 on the evening of the 14th, the "Wenjing" tour bus carrying 35 mainland tourists was driving in the same direction as a "Zhongying" tour bus carrying 18 passengers. When traveling on the Zhixue section of Taijiu Line, Shoufeng Township, Hualien County, the driver named Liao of the "Zhongying" tour bus suddenly turned right, causing the driver of the mainland passenger group Shen to dodge quickly, causing the car to lose control and hit the guardrail and the road tree on the right side of the road.

According to multiple photos of the accident site, the accident tour bus has crossed the roadside, and many branches have fallen to the ground next to the impacted tree, the front of the car has been damaged, and the glass on the front of the car has been broken.
After the incident, the Taiwan Fire Department Service Center was reported and dispatched several ambulances to rescue. Most of the 10 passengers (4 males and 6 females) on the car suffered minor injuries due to falls and had multiple bruises and bruises. Two injured people were sent to Tzu Chi Hospital in Hualien, 3 people were sent to Noble Hospital, and 5 people were sent to Hualien Hospital for treatment. The tour group leader revealed that he did not expect a car accident to occur on the eve of leaving Taiwan, which disappointed many tourists. Fortunately, the members were all safe. According to preliminary investigation by the police, the alcohol test value of the drivers on both sides was 0, and neither of them had drunk driving.
