Following the former chairman of the National Saving Party, Shen Liangxi, announced that he would return to China on November 9 this year, the day coincided with the annual water delivery festival of Cambodia. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen emphasized that even if the water level of the Baise River is only 1 meter high, this year's water delivery festival will continue as usual.
Prime Minister Hun Sen attended the graduation ceremony held at a school in the Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center on October 2 and announced it at the event of issuing graduation certificates to 1,183 graduates.
He pointed out that before, due to the high or low water level in the river, we would cancel the dragon boating activities of the Water Delivery Festival. But this year, even if the water level of the river is only 1 meter high, we will hold a water delivery festival celebration.
He said, I want to see what is the "overthrow of Hun Sen" activity on November 9. So, from November 10th to 12th, we will hold the dragon boat race together. If we don’t, people will say we will lose.
It is understood that the government has canceled the Phnom Penh Water Delivery Festival activities for three consecutive years since the stampede incident in Phnom Penh Water Delivery Festival, and resumed the event in 2014.
However, due to the drought in 2015, the Water Delivery Festival was cancelled again.
In recent years, the Water Delivery Festival has been held as usual.
