Foxconn parent company Foxconn has released two new cars and reiterated that the company will adhere to its OEM positioning.

On October 18, Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd. (Hong Hai, 2317.TW) Technology Day, Hon Hai founder Guo Taiming and Hon Hai Chairman Liu Yangwei respectively drove MODEL B and MODEL C mass production versions. The electric hatchback MODEL B is a new product released by Hon Hai this year, and another new car, MODEL V is a dual-row pure electric pickup truck. SUV Model C is a model launched by Hon Hai on Technology Day last year and is also the first electric car built by Hon Hai MIH open platform. It is expected to be delivered to car owners by brand customers in the second half of next year.

"MODEL C started pre-order last month, and orders exceeded 15,000 units within 32 hours. We increased the power of the mass-produced Model C from 400 horsepower to 460 horsepower, and reduced the acceleration from 000 to 3.8 seconds. In terms of range, we are confident that we can achieve the goal of 700 kilometers." Liu Yangwei said.

According to reports, the MODEL B's 000 acceleration is 6.6 seconds and the range is 450 kilometers. The electric pickup MODEL V is known as the first electric pickup truck designed and developed by Taiwan, and is also regarded as a milestone for Hon Hai to complete the intermediate puzzle of passenger cars and large commercial vehicles. In terms of design, the MODEL V has a load capacity of 1 ton and a towing capacity of 3 ton.

Liu Yangwei said that the three models will be gradually produced in factories in Taiwan, Thailand and the United States. At present, Hon Hai is also negotiating cooperation with India and Indonesian partners, and will extend it to all parts of the world through localized (BOL) operating model in the future.

"Honghai used to build PCs and mobile phones, and now it wants to build EV electric car . So far, Honhai has produced more than 2 billion smartphones. These products are continuing to change people's social, consumption, learning, and work and lifestyles." Liu Yangwei emphasized that in the EV ( electric car ) industry, Honhai will adhere to the original intention of commissioning design and manufacturing services and will not change. At the same time, Honghua (a new company jointly established with Taiwan Yulon Automobile) will also play a role similar to design and service in the ICT industry. Honhai's goal is to provide the various high-tech services required by car manufacturers and vertically integrate the management capabilities of the global supply chain with , making car manufacturers more competitive.

In Liu Yangwei's view, vertical integration has always been Hon Hai's DNA. In addition to the three-electric system, Hon Hai will also provide vertical integration services for semiconductor, battery and software platforms.

"Foun Hai has developed semiconductor-related businesses for more than ten years, and has established a complete ecological chain in silicon carbide (SiCh). Customers no longer have to worry about the supply of automotive semiconductors. At the same time, Hon Hai is actively developing solid-state battery to improve battery safety, energy density and charging speed." Liu Yangwei said.

It is worth noting that according to Taiwan Economic Daily , on the Technology Day, Liu Yangwei stated when asked whether Hon Hai Car Manufacturing is competing with brand customers: " Tesla is a brand car company, Hon Hai is a commissioned design and manufacturing service company in the automotive industry. The two companies are not a competitive relationship. Hon Hai can help Tesla build cars one day. Hon Hai's goal remains unchanged, that is, the electric vehicle market share will reach 5% in 2025. Since Hon Hai's global ICT product market share falls from 40 to 45%, I hope that in the long run, the electric vehicle industry can reach the same level, but it is very small at present." At the

event, Hon Hai announced the independently developed electric vehicle software platform HHEV.OS. According to Hon Hai, this platform can simplify the complexity of software development, greatly shorten the development time, and achieve the goal of rapid product launch. Hon Hai will apply to MIH to make HHEV.OS the standard for the MIH software open platform.

It is understood that Hon Hai is implementing the 3+3 strategy, namely the three future industries and the three core technologies. The three future industries are electric vehicles, digital health, and robots. The three core technologies are artificial intelligence , semiconductors, and new generation communications.

htmlOn August 10, Hon Hai's financial report released showed that Hon Hai's consolidated revenue in the first half of the year was 2.91 trillion yuan ( New Taiwan Dollar , the same below), an increase of 8.11% year-on-year, and the net profit attributable to the parent company's owners was 62.744 billion yuan, an increase of 8.29% year-on-year, and earnings per share in the first half of the year was 4.53 yuan.

As of the close of the Taiwan stock market on October 18, Hon Hai closed down 1.43% at NT$103.5 per share, with a market value of NT$1.43 trillion.
