According to Taiwan media reports, Taipei City Zoo said today (26th) that the 18-year-old giant panda " Tuantuan " was found to have brain lesions and necrosis due to epilepsy a few days ago. Due to its recent sharp decline in appetite and activity, the park urgently arranged the second MRI, and found that the lesion area was significantly expanded, so it decided to adopt a soothing care method to take care.

Zoo issued a press release in the morning, announcing the results of the second MRI of "Tuantuan". The image showed that the lesion area was significantly expanded and the mass effect appeared. The course of the disease progressed rapidly. It was speculated that the probability of a malignant brain tumor was greatly increased, but because it was impossible to conduct invasive section examinations, it could not be confirmed 100%.

Zoo said that considering the recent clinical manifestations of "Tuantuan" and the factors such as the anesthesia response and the longer recovery time, it was decided not to anesthetize or invasive examinations on it, but to give priority to maintaining the well-being of animals and take care of "Tuantuan".

Zoo says that veterinarians now give "tuantuan" medicine every day to relieve symptoms, and give infusions to replenish water. At the same time, they add protein , vitamin E and B, dietary fiber, etc. from daily feed. When processing ingredients, they will also help them keep more food they like, hoping that they can eat more to maintain their physical strength.

Taipei Zoo also stated that in order to allow the people to continue to cheer for "Tuantuan", a special area of "Tuantuan I want to tell you" will be set up at the exit of the giant panda hall in the near future, and invite everyone to give their blessings, hoping to protect and accompany "Tuantuan" safety.
