Taiwan’s county and city elections are approaching at the end of the year, and the internal confrontation between the “government and opposition” political parties is becoming increasingly intensified. Former DPP chairman Xu Xinliang said yesterday (23rd) that the blue-green confrontation has become an "enemy country", rather than a party that checks and balances each other, which is the biggest crisis in Taiwan. He advised the "ruling people" to regard resolving internal hostilities as an important political work.
Xu Xinliang, who has not appeared for a long time, pointed out yesterday that blue and green parties do have different values, but the basic value of a "democratic society" is "no matter how you don't like it, you must tolerate it." Any idea has the right to exist. It may not be possible to change the recognition, but the hostility must be resolved. He believes that the more Taiwan has to face mainland China, the more it needs to solve internal problems. There must be a political party that can check and balance each other, but if the blue and green confrontation becomes an "enemy country", it will be Taiwan's biggest crisis.
Xu Xinliang said that if the DPP wants to continue to "rule", this problem must be solved. As for the responsibility for resolving, the "ruling" has more responsibilities than opponents, because the "ruling" has resources, and the DPP authorities should make more efforts.
Regarding the "nine-in-one" election at the end of the year, Xu Xinliang believes that the DPP can be in power in the "central government", but in local elections, the people may have a balance between the "ruling party". In addition, the Kuomintang now has advantages in local governance, so it is not easy for the Democratic Progressive Party to turn the tables at the end of the year.
Regarding the recent draft of the DPP authorities' "Communication Communications Commission (NCC)" to promote the "Digital Intermediary Services Law", the content was criticized as "online martial law". Although the head of the administrative agency Su Zhenchang recently announced a "suspended" policy, the outside world still questioned that "the election will be suspended now, and it will still be promoted after the election." In this regard, Xu Xinliang also believes that the "Intermediary Law" does not have the necessity of "legislation". Can this "law" regulate international online platforms? If it doesn't work, it loses meaning.
Xu Xinliang said that although the green camp claimed that this "legislation" was to regulate false information, because false information also became part of the war. But since "legislation" cannot be implemented effectively and universally, it is meaningless. Xu Xinliang said that he did not believe that the "intermediary law" can prevent "cognitive warfare". How to solve this problem should be similar to the "Fourth Military Information Defense Force", and it is impossible that there is only "legislation".
In addition, Xu Xinliang said that the DPP’s improper handling of the “Intermediary Law” and other aspects will of course have a negative multiplication effect on county and city elections at the end of the year, which will affect the DPP’s election results at the end of the year.
