According to Taiwan's China Times, the Tsai administration's "Ministry of the Interior" stated that starting from today (27th), the Tsai administration will handle matters related to the abolition of 203 political parties and the abolition of 42 political groups in accordance with Article 43 of the "Political Party Law", and the Women's Federation is also among them. Wang Yumin, chairman of the Kuomintang Cultural and Communication Association, said that the "Ministry of the Interior" should tutor these groups to assist in transformation, and their practices should also be in line with the value of democracy and the rule of law; unfortunately, the practices of the DPP authorities are completely opposite. She criticized that the DPP demanded respect and tolerance of diverse values when it was in opposition, and after taking office, it was very high-pressure and authoritarian, with completely double standards and double practices.
It is reported that although groups including the Women's Federation and the "China Whampoa Four Seas Association" did not seek help from the Kuomintang, the Kuomintang also realized that under the disadvantage of the "Legislative Yuan", it is still difficult to make effective actions in the "Legislative Yuan" struggle. However, the Party Central Committee is still discussing whether to support these groups by holding press conferences, requiring special project reports and propaganda at the "Legislative Yuan Interior Committee", and at the same time expose the high-pressure and coercive means of the DPP authorities, so that Taiwanese people can see the authoritarian actions of the Tsai administration more clearly.
Wang Yumin said that the Kuomintang has two views on this matter. First, the "Ministry of the Interior" should tutor these groups and assist in transformation, not in the form of liquidation, but now it uses tough and liquidation methods such as dissolution. In fact, the 42 groups have their own backgrounds, and the "Ministry of the Interior" should respect their historical background, not from the perspective of current politics.
Secondly, the processing process must conform to the value of democracy and the rule of law. These groups had their own goals for establishment in the past and their goals for transformation now; among them, the Ministry of Interior should respect and counsel the "Ministry of the Interior" rather than using the law to slash it with one stone or impose compulsory oppression by dissolution. Democracy must be tolerant and respect the value of diversity. Now, management of societies uses tough measures such as one-size-fits-all methods, which is completely inconsistent with the diverse value recognized by the Party when it entered the opposition.
Wang Yumin emphasized that when the DPP was in opposition, even illegal activities, as long as it was legitimate to appeal to the purpose, they believed that there was room for existence and claimed to adhere to "democracy and diversity"; now after taking office, they have turned into authoritarianism and often used administrative orders or compulsory means to deal with people's organizations. Moreover, these groups are not riotous groups and have no special political purposes. Groups such as the Women's Federation have done a lot of public welfare, but the DPP authorities completely ignored the Women's Federation's repeated efforts to seek counseling for more than two years, which is very regrettable.
