In fact, in the domestic mobile phone market where competition is extremely fierce, the trend of flagship mobile phones becoming a thousand yuan has gradually become a certain fact. In the past month or two, mobile phones such as Nut Mobile, Xiaomi 4C, LeTV 1S, OnePlus X, Honor Play 5X, and the Great God NOTE 3 have all entered the market with price of around thousand yuan. Even the upcoming Redmi NOTE PRO (it is said to be equipped with metal body and fingerprint recognition). When there are so many competitors, how should Meilan metal deal with it? Duanmu is lucky enough to get the trial opportunity of Sina Public Test. This time I will talk to my friends about this unique mobile phone.
Packaging Chapter: The mainstream moderate design
Meilan metal packaging box adopts a refreshing white tone, but the word Meilan is a gradient blue, and the word metal is a more metal-like gray. Behind the packaging box, the big SAMPLE word indicates that the only prototypes used this time are trials, but Duanmu guessed that even if it is a prototype, it should be no longer much different from the mass production machine. In the packaging box, the upper part of the mobile phone adopts a plastic-sealed design. You need to remove the upper layer of paper before you can take out the real machine. This is another layer of protection. Accessories include warranty card, thimble, charging head and charging cable. There is no instruction manual. I believe that the mass-produced version of accessories should be more abundant.
Exterior: The plastic appearance under the metal body
Mickey blue metal is the integrated aluminum alloy metal body, but due to the overbearing treatment of the later paint process, the back of the phone is closer to the plastic material in terms of appearance. Of course, the metal body will still be much better than the plastic material in terms of grip. Although the sensory blue metal has a strong plastic feeling, a major benefit of such a paint process is that the phone does not slip when holding it. Compared with metal and glass, such a back shell does have stronger friction. Secondly, the integrated rear case is more advantageous than the three-stage back cover, and there will be no problems with the seam dislocation and color difference.
Meilan metal has an appearance dimension of 150.7 x 75.3 8.2mm and weighs 162 grams. Although the data on the thickness of the phone and the weight of the body are just average, it will not be difficult for a male user to hold it in one hand.
In terms of display screen, the 5.5-inch display has added 2.5D glass, which is currently hard to find in the thousand-yuan phone market. Obviously, the arc transition makes the operation of the edge of the phone more comfortable and feel better. The display has a resolution of 1080P and a PPI of 403. In actual use, the display effect is relatively delicate. Moreover, since the brightness reaches 450 nits, the performance under the sun is still good, and the screen content is displayed relatively clearly.
Meilan metal body has only one SIM card slot, which supports dual Nano SIM cards and supports dual 4G networks. On the right side of the body are the traditional volume up/down keys and power buttons. These three buttons are hard in actual use, with a slightly longer stroke, but have a very powerful rebound. The arrangement of the top and bottom of the body has no change compared to that of the Meilan NOTE 2. It is still the top headphone jack, the bottom Micro USB port, speakers and microphone. The bottom is asymmetrical design, so Virgo users and obsessive-compulsive patients should be confused again.
Metal has equipped the mTouch fingerprint recognition key on high-end machines with the body for the first time, which also shows Meizu's determination and confidence in this product.Although it takes about 15 repeated operations to enter the fingerprint, which is not efficient, the fingerprint unlocking speed is indeed quite fast and the recognition rate is also very high. Screen:
Meilan metal sets the screen size to 5.5 inches, so the actual positioning of the machine is similar to the successor of Meilan Note, but it has to be admitted that the difference between the two is quite large, so Meizu sets Meilan metal to set up a new portal. In terms of resolution, the Meizu metal is 1080P, the contrast is 1000:1, the ppi is 403, and the brightness reaches 450 nits. All parameters look quite powerful. In actual experience, the outdoor performance of Meilan Metal's screen is at the upper and lower level among similar products, and it is almost no difficulty in reading the content on the screen under direct sunlight. In addition, although the viewing angle of the display is pretty good, the color performance at the extreme angle has declined a lot.
System: Flyme 5.1 system under YunOS
Meilan metal is preinstalled with the latest Flyme 5.1 system, but it is based on YunOS, but Duanmu did not find any operational inappropriate during the actual experience. The UI icon of Flyme 5.1 is already quite flat. Although it is more vivid than the previous version in terms of color matching, it is far from the level of heavy makeup. It is more visually colorful than native Android, but it still hides traces of native Android. I believe that the designers are also working hard to grab inspiration from Android Material. Hardware: MTK's top processor Helio X10 is currently equipped with Meilan metal. In fact, Duanmu has always been very upset about MTK. It is obviously its own flagship product, and its positioning is obviously equivalent to Qualcomm's top CPU product, but it is always used by domestic manufacturers for non-flagship-level thousand-yuan phone products. Obviously, Meizu is also afraid of the various hot events brought by the 810 processor, and Meilan metal performs almost perfectly in terms of heat dissipation.
Meilan Metal's video playback capability is amazing. According to actual measurements, the video format supports up to 29 types, reaching the level of OnePlus Mobile 2, completely exceeding the level of a thousand yuan phone. Camera Chapter: The white balance is accurate but the details are insufficient
The rear camera of the blue metal is 13 million pixels, F/2.2 aperture, 5-piece lens, equipped with a two-color flash, and adopts phase focus. Battery life and call: It is enough to use
Meilan metal is equipped with a battery of 3140 mAh, and its capacity is not very outstanding. It is on the same level as mainstream models in the market. However, unlike similar products that often use charging heads with power of 5V/2A or 9V/2A, the charging head standard for Meilan metal is only 5V/1.5A. In addition, Meilan Metal did not mention its fast charging function during the introduction, so Meilan Metal should not support mCharge fast charging. This configuration made Duanmu extremely doubt its charging time, but actual tests found that the suspicion was completely unfair. Duanmu started to use the original charger to charge when using the battery until only 10% left. The final charging time was 2 hours and 7 minutes, which also included a trickle charging time of 10 minutes. Meilan Metal's charging performance was perfect! In terms of battery life, in pure standby state, turn off wireless and data, clean the background program, turn off the screen for 8 hours, and consume about 4% of the power.
